Massive Explosion in Beirut | 04-08-2020

Smuggling through Beirut and across the Northern Lebanese border was the only way to reach the insurgents. It's why they were desperate for such a long time to secure a Syrian port.

The French Initiative [Saad Hariri renamed as PM]

If Hezbollah is our parent, can we start calling you "daddy"? Will you spank us next time we don't behave, daddy?

Lassa Land Larceny: Patronizing Patriarch Postulate vs. Irate Indigenous Invaders

I share a lot of your sentiment, but out of genuine curiosity, where do you believe the FPM failed to respect the law?

Lassa Land Larceny: Patronizing Patriarch Postulate vs. Irate Indigenous Invaders

It is not the Iranian axis which hindered the attempts to reform the country, but the mafia state. That includes everyone from Berri to Hariri to Joumblatt to their lapdogs and benefactors. I do not deny their power either. I am denying they are solely in power.

Lassa Land Larceny: Patronizing Patriarch Postulate vs. Irate Indigenous Invaders

I don't understand your point. Are you saying we HAVE to take a side, either with or against the USA? If so, then you have to agree that a stance against the USA would be much more forecful if backed by a strong Lebanese state and a people that is not going hungry in the dark. That is why...

Massive Explosion in Beirut | 04-08-2020

I can only talk about my myself, but I see the West and East both as reprehensible and do not have any will to defend neither. We cannot rule out the possibility that the nitrate arrived to Lebanon at the behest of a foreign entity. In fact, I find the idea that it was meant to be smuggled into...

Lassa Land Larceny: Patronizing Patriarch Postulate vs. Irate Indigenous Invaders

It wasn't to its advantage at all, nor was that ever the goal of the MoU. That is precisely the point that I am trying to make. We can argue the wisdom of FPM's alliance with Hezbollah for hours, but at the end of the day it was a gambit in the hope of fixing this Godforsaken circus of a...

Lassa Land Larceny: Patronizing Patriarch Postulate vs. Irate Indigenous Invaders

Aoun deserved that position purely on the base that elected him. Hezbollah had another candidate in mind. Also, Aoun was eventually voted in by (almost) everyone, each for their own reasons to do so. You chose your words carefully. "Set the path". I am not denying that, but "setting the path"...

Also, please explain to me how the MoU helped the FPM get positions and appointments. That claim is baseless.

Lassa Land Larceny: Patronizing Patriarch Postulate vs. Irate Indigenous Invaders

It wasn't a U-turn, as if out of nowhere. You can criticize FPM for being too patient, but Bassil and the FPM have been warning Hezbollah things will come to this for years. I'm sorry, but there is nothing sudden, unreasonable or inconsistent with what is happening today. The relationship has...

Lassa Land Larceny: Patronizing Patriarch Postulate vs. Irate Indigenous Invaders

Aoun's position pre-2006 was erroneous, and the MoU came as a rectification of that. Hezbollah is not a terrorist organization.

Lassa Land Larceny: Patronizing Patriarch Postulate vs. Irate Indigenous Invaders

I don't understand you. FPM takes a reasonable stance against a political relationship which is proving to have been counter-productive and you blast them for it? Nevermind the fact that you're mistaken regarding FPM supporters (hardcore or not, there has always been and will always be political...

Lassa Land Larceny: Patronizing Patriarch Postulate vs. Irate Indigenous Invaders

The July War and May 7 were not reasons to question our relationship with Hezbollah, بل العكس. Joumblatt recently admitted on live TV that he instigated May 7 at the behest of a shadowy "they", which kind of justifies Hezbollah actions that day. As for their involvement in regional conflicts...

US Elections 2020 - Presidential, Congressional and Local [TRUMP vs BIDEN]

I would assume both candidates are pretty limp.

Lassa Land Larceny: Patronizing Patriarch Postulate vs. Irate Indigenous Invaders

FPM supporters certainly don't hate HA supporters. There is extreme disappointment with the leadership and frustration with the more zealously sectarian section of their support, but that doesn't extend to most good and honest people who side with Hezbollah.

Lassa Land Larceny: Patronizing Patriarch Postulate vs. Irate Indigenous Invaders

That March 14 rhetoric is incredibly superficial and hypocritcal. If FPM's hopes and patience with Hezbollah has nearly been exhausted, it doesn't meam March 14 was right all along... They are part of the same problem.
