The Srebrenica massacre was a gigantic political fraud
Exclusive interview with Ed Herman

John Robles - Voice of Russia
Jan 31, 2013 15:29 Moscow Time

Renowned author Dr. Edward Herman spoke with the Voice of Russia regarding the facts surrounding the Srebrenica Massacre, the pretext for the "humanitarian" invasion of the former Yugoslavia, and takes apart the "official" version that has always been promoted by the West. Dr. Herman reveals that there were in fact multiple massacres at Srebrenica, and that the killing of Bosnian-Muslim soldiers at Srebrenica (the West's pretext) was in response to the killing of over 2,000 Serb civilians, mostly women and children, at the location.

Robles
: My first question is about “The Srebrenica Massacre” and the way that the establishment manipulated the media. Can you tell us, or give us some insights, on that?

Herman: The Srebrenica Massacre, actually I always put it in quote marks, because actually there were lots of massacres in the Srebrenica area, the one before July 1995 there were vast numbers of Serbs killed by Muslim, Bosnian Muslim, forces who went out of Srebrenica.

One estimate is that there were more than 150 Serbs villages that were totally wiped out and one study gives actually gives the namesof 2,383 Serb civilians who were killed between 1992 and July, 1995. So then we’d call that “The First Srebrenica Massacre”. Then in July 1995...

Robles: Just to be very clear, these were Serbs, that were being killed.

Herman: Yes! We’re talking about 2,383 Serb civilians killed before July 1995. And the Bosnian Serb Army took over Srebrenica in July, 1995, and there were deaths and executions after that. That’s what’s called in the West “The Srebrenica Massacre”, but, in fact, that’s really mainly a political construct.

The numbers executed there were probably in the order of between 500 and 1,000. In other words, less than half of the number of Serbs civilians killed before July, 1995.

And the Western claim is that 8,000 men and boys were executed in the quote Srebrenica massacre, but notice these were men, always men, all men, they were all soldiers, whereas those 2,383 civilians killed included very large numbers of women and children.

We’re talking about the execution in the Second Massacre of essentially army people. And of course they had never proved that there were 7,000 or 8,000, even men and boys killed. The bodies in the graves added up to something like 2,500.

A lot of those bodies were combat deaths. One of the beauties of the Western propaganda system is that all the bodies they found after July, 1995, they count as executed, even though we know very well that a large number were killed in combat.

Reminder

Herman
: Also another important fact about the Srebrenica massacre is that all those killings of Serbs took place coming out of an area that was supposed to be a “safe haven”. Srebrenica was a safe place, a safe haven. It was supposed to be demilitarized, but it never was.

So the Bosnian Muslim soldiers would come out to Srebrenica and they would kill Serb civilians. This is all completely ignored in the Western media. It’s as if the Serbs came in July and started to kill arbitrarily.

In fact, the U.N. military in that area, a French Offical name Phillip Movion, was asked by the Yugoslav tribunal, “Why the Serbs did it?”

He said he’s absolutely convinced that they did it because of what the commander of Srebrenica’s Bosnian Muslims did to the Serbs before July 1995.

This is the UN Army head, but you won’t see that in the Western press!

In other words, the first massacre is what led to the lesser second massacre of namely military aged people.

The whole business of the Srebrenica Massacre is a gigantic political fraud. There was a massacre, but it was a responsive vengeance massacre, women and children were not killed.

One of the features of the “quote” Srebrenica Massacre, that is the second one, is that 20,000 Srebrenica women and children were bussed to safety by the Serb army. Women and children were not killed, only military aged people and a very large fraction of those that did die, died in combat.

So my own estimate, as I said, is that maybe there were 500 to 1,000 executions. Vengeance executions.

Robles: I’m sorry. How many?

Herman: 500 to 1,000 I would say.

Robles: 500 to 1,000.

Herman: Yes. So there was a significant massacre, but put it in its context! This was a war, this was an army that had seen their own civilians massacred on a much larger scale. That is completely suppressed in the West, as if the Serbs came in to Srebrenica and started to kill because of a blood lust! It’s absolutely a fraud!

So, I regard the Srebrenica massacre as a tremendous propaganda triumph. The West wanted to go after Serbia and they avoided peace. They needed this massacre.

Robles: You said, about 2,380 civilians, women and children mainly...

Herman: Serbian women and children, yes.

Robles: ... were killed initially. This was the Srebrenica...

Herman: The first massacrebetween 1992 and July 1995. These were Serb civilians. There were also hundreds of Serb military killed in that period, I am just talking about civilians!

Robles: The civilians, right! And then in retaliation approximately 2,500 Muslim... Bosnian Muslims soldiers were killed.

Herman: That’s misleading, because the thrust of the 8,000 claim is that they were executed but those 2000-plus that were killed, a very large fraction were killed in combat.

Robles: In combat. Okay, I see. I see.

Herman: Yes, and the executions were, as I say probably in the order of 500 to 1,000.

Robles: Okay. So those were Bosnian Muslims who were found to be directly responsible for killing massive numbers of Serbian civilians. Right?

Herman: The Serbs actually had lists of Bosnian Muslim soldiers they wanted to get, but I can’t honestly say they were the only ones who were executed. But certainly, a significant number of those executed were on those lists, those vengeance lists.

So you’re saying Serbs were provoked by bosnian massacres ?
Sounds like Lebanon

well .. ill try to make a resume for a very complex situation .. yes somehow comples like lebanon .

Jugoslavia needed to be destroyed by the USA a EU , after the end of the socialist bloc .
germany had a big role through pushing their old proxies in slovenia and Croatia ( google for ustascia regime in croatia , and jasenovac concentration camp )
in order to destroy jugoslavia , they need to hit the serbs who were the biggest block in the Jugoslav federation .
so they started by stirring the etnical card in kosovo ( albanian vs serbs ) .
at the same time croatia and bosnia payed a PR company in washington to start an anti serbian propaganda .
and the slovenians started their procedure toward the independence .

since slovenian is etnically homogenous country , it was easy for them to separate from the federation .
croatia have the serbian minorities in the dalmatian region and the eastern slavonia .. after the rehabilitation of the old fascist regime symbols in croatia , the serbian minority fel the threat of the second war memories ,. so they declared the self autonomy from the govern from zaghreb and seeked help from serbia .
Bosnia is composed from 3 ethnicities .. the serbs , muslima nd croatian in herzegovina .
the muslim and the croat joined in an alliance against the serbs .. before any serebrenica happened , lot of crimes were comitted against the serbs civilian in the towns around tuzla and serebrenica ..

General Philippe Morillon

General Philippe Morillon was Commander of United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) in Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1992 to 1993.

General Philippe Morillon describes a conversation that he had with Slobodan Milošević in late March 1993, in which he appealed to him to avert the humanitarian catastrophe that threatened Srebrenica, a UN safe-area in eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina:
"Q. Did there come a time when the situation in Srebrenica became so desperate that you took the decision to go to Belgrade and to speak to Mr. Milošević regarding what was going on in Srebrenica?
A. Yes. I knew from the beginning that the only person who could assist me in this attempt to save the people was Mr. Milošević, and I went to tell him. And I have very -- a very clear memory of that. “There was already a spot on the flag of your republic. Believe me, if you don't do everything to help me to disarm this dreadful bomb that is now threatening the entire population of Srebrenica because of the degree of hatred that has developed there, you will have an even worse blemish on your reputation and world public opinion will not forgive you.”

General Philippe Morillon provides evidence that forces from the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, and not just those of the Bosnian Serb army, were involved in bombarding the town of Srebrenica:
"Q. … With respect to artillery bombardment, what did you know at that time with respect to the involvement of artillery in Serbia bombarding Srebrenica and the surrounding area? …
A. I had with me a small team of observers, and they informed me of the fact that when the offensive was being launched that it was supported by fire coming from the other side of the Drina [River], which meant from the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

Also, you know that there were two air raids by non-identified planes without obvious markings which came to bomb the front, and again they were coming from Serbia. Finally, I was informed about identity cards of specifically two Serb soldiers. One was a police officer who was a resident of the Republic of Serbia and who had permission to enter the area of Srebrenica and an identity card of another Serb soldier.
So these were several elements that support the conviction that I had, and that was that everything that was happening in the area enjoyed the support of the federal army itself, the Serb army. And this did not surprise anyone, because that army had a common goal with the Serbs of Bosnia, the Serbs of [Bosnian Serb army commander Ratko] Mladić."
General Philippe Morillon held meetings with the military and political leaders of the warring factions at least once per week during the time that he served as head of the United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He provided valuable evidence that Slobodan Milošević was informed of the dire circumstances that prevailed in the UN-declared safe-area of Srebrenica, in eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina.
General Morillon testified that UNPROFOR’s mandate in Bosnia and Herzegovina was essentially to support the delivery of humanitarian aid, “so that hundreds of thousands of inhabitants of Bosnia [who] had taken refuge in enclaves, who were besieged, who had absolutely no means of subsistence would not starve or die of exposure”. Srebrenica was one of these enclaves where there was a real humanitarian crisis, as General Morillon was able to see for himself when he visited the besieged city in March 1993. He testified that he saw a “degree of … absolute misery with a real risk of tens of thousands being killed”.
Like other international representatives who testified before the Tribunal, General Morillon supported the Prosecution’s claim that Slobodan Milošević was the man to go to in order to get results on the ground in Bosnia. General Morillon testified that he went to Slobodan Milošević to get him to intervene in the situation in Srebrenica because he felt that Bosnian Serb Army commander Ratko Mladić, who he said “was the only person who really had authority on the territory of Republika Srpska [the Bosnian Serb-controlled entity in eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina],” was “capable of obeying orders coming from Belgrade”.
General Morillon also provided very important testimony that Yugoslavia supported ethnic cleansing operations in Srebrenica. As excerpted in the quote above, he told the court that Srebrenica was bombarded from Yugoslav territory, and that there were air raids that also came from the Yugoslav side of the Drina River.
In addition, General Morillon testified about attacks that Bosnian Muslim forces made in Serb villages surrounding Srebrenica on 7 January 2003, which is Christmas in the Serbian Orthodox calendar. Morillon stated that these attacks, “created a degree of hatred that was quite extraordinary in the region,” causing the entire Serb population in the area to “rebel against the very idea that through humanitarian aid one might help the population”, in Srebrenica. After seeing bodies of Serb victims that had been thrown in a hole in one of the villages that suffered Orić’s attacks, Morillon said he understood “the degree to which this infernal situation of blood and vengeance [referring to New York Times reporter Chuck Sudetić's book called Blood and Vengeance], led to a situation when I personally feared that the worst would happen if the Serbs of Bosnia managed to enter the enclaves and Srebrenica”.

A French military officer, General Phillipe Morillon was Deputy Commander of the United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) with responsibility for Croatia from March to September 1992. He then became UNPROFOR commander for Bosnia and Herzegovina, holding that post until July 1993. At the time of his testimony in 2004, General Morillon was serving as a member of the European Parliament.

General Philippe Morillon testified on 12 February 2004. Read his full testimony.

Foreword
Srebrenica is a small town in the East of the former Yugoslavian republic (and today the state, founded with a baptism of fire by NATO) of Bosnia-Herzegovina, an enclave in the Serbian area of settlement inhabited mostly by Muslims until the mid-1990s.
But Srebrenica was more: in the constituent republic which was soon to be occupied by UN and NATO troops and torn by civil war, it was a (pseudo-)demilitarised "safe area", installed by the occupying powers, in addition to Žepa, Goražde, Sarajevo, Tuzla and Bihać. All of these "safe areas" were located in areas inhabited mostly by Serbs but were under UN or (which is the same thing) NATO control. Under the protection of the foreign occupying forces, the Muslims, who were anything but "demilitarised", being equipped with modern weapons (who were also described in the witness statements from surviving Serbs as "Ustaša" or "Turks"), launched attacks on the surrounding Serbian villages, whose inhabitants they manhandled bestially, tortured and slaughtered. This happened in the area around Srebrenica from 1992 until the summer of 1995, when Serb forces took the town without a fight (!), and this documentation is about the crimes committed against Serbian civilians that have remained unpunished to this day: Srebrenica – what really happened.
But Srebrenica is even more: it is, when Western politicians and their aligned, US-controlled media mention its name, a topos charged with powerful emotions, a gruesome, bloodthirsty metaphor, in which racism, fascism, genocide, chauvinism, imperial nationalism, ethnic cleansing, mass rape – in short, all of the tried and tested labels for politically correct baiting of the last two decades – are not only uttered, but shouted deafeningly into one’s ears. And let it be noted: the Serb is always the murderer, just like in World War I, just like in Hitler’s invasion of Yugoslavia, and now for the third and presumably last time. The US Empire and its vassals have achieved the perversion of facts that allows the Serbs, instead of being, as they were, the victims of a genocide perpetrated by the Catholic Church and the Nazis, to be portrayed as a fascist people of perpetrators. Clinton, former German SPD Chancellor Schröder and former Green Foreign Minister Fischer are the political executors of Hitler’s legacy.
"Srebrenica" in its official version is a propaganda lie that will not become the truth however loudly and frequently it is repeated. What the Sender Gleiwitz was to the Nazis, the little town of Srebrenica is to NATO.
In proportion to the size of this lie is the scale of the crime itself, which was only made possible by the lie in the first place; it can only be compared with the allegedly murdered incubator babies and the alleged weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. As was taking place at the same time in Iraq, tens of thousands of people fell victim to the economic sanctions that had been imposed on Serbia since 1992. In spring 1999, the remains of Yugoslavia was bombed for eleven weeks by NATO, and then the historical and religious core of Serbia, the Amselfeld ("Kosovo"), was amputated, occupied and, in violation of the relevant UN stipulations, which guaranteed the territorial integrity of the rump of Yugoslavia, "released into independence". Now, 15 years later, this lie is being warmed up again, because now it is time to pass judgements on both the political and military leadership of the Serbs and ordinary combatants in show trials conducted by the victors and bury them alive for decades in prisons – provided, of course, that they have not already died there under dubious circumstances. And the world will discover, apart from the bawling in the obligatory five-minute hate broadcast, nothing of importance, least of all on the internet. It is ghostly: Radovan Karadžić or Vojislav Šešelji, whose adherents number millions, mutate into media monsters, stereotypes of terror. The ruling class has undoubtedly learned since the Nazis’ debacle in the Reichstag fire trial of Georgi Dimitroff et al: the lying runs like clockwork, and technology makes it possible worldwide. The propaganda "Srebrenica" is NATO’s Auschwitz fake.
Srebrenica, as it really was: one of hundreds of war zones in Bosnia-Herzegovina, torn apart by the civil war between catholic Croats, orthodox Serbs and Muslims forcibly converted under Turkish rule. Just like the Nazis, the US imperialists subjugated the country by using the Islamic-Catholic axis, and the lie ruled right from the start: the Bosnian Serbs are supposed to have killed more than 250,000, while it has been proved that a total of between 30,000 and 60,000 people of all the parties to the civil war died; the evil, evil Serbs are supposed to have "systematically mass-raped" 60,000 women, no, 40,000, no, 20,000, until finally 119 documented cases remained (without the Serbian rape victims, of course) etc., etc. The propaganda "Srebrenica" is to a certain degree the generic term of this orgy of lies that has been raining down on our heads for years. There was fighting in the real Srebrenica too – of course, one almost is willing to say – resulting in about 2000 Muslims dying in battle. There are serious studies that exist on this matter, none more exemplary than that presented by the co-author of this documentation, Alexander Dorin (‘Srebrenica – Die Geschichte eines salonfähigen Rassismus’, Berlin 2010), the Bulgarian Germinal Civikov and several others. Admittedly, their voices are faint, which is inevitable under a worldwide regime of censorship.
But before the propaganda "Srebrenica" there were real crimes committed in the same region, which have been suppressed, kept silent, covered up, swept under the carpet: because they were committed against Serbs. And these are what this documentation is about. Alexander Dorin has spared neither effort, time nor money in his years of painstaking research in order to bring these denied facts to light, and without a stroke of luck – in the form of a meeting with the co-author Zoran Jovanović – he still would not have succeeded. What they have brought to light is horrendous but none the less true for that. (Will some state censorship authority spring into action this time too, acting on behalf of "youth protection", "misogyny", "racism" or whatever? We’ll see…)
In any case, it has become possible for the unbiased observer to hear the proverbial "other side", whose voice would otherwise have been silenced for all time – a sufficient, indeed urgent, reason for this publication.
