على الأرجح إسرائيل قتلتو
There's no way in hell you actually believe that![]()
Why not? They might have killed him to say that smuggling Fakhoury was justified or else, he would have had the same fate
What makes you think they care about justifying smuggling Fakhoury?
I think the whole world is busy tackling the corona virus outbreak. Ma be3te2ed 7adan hammo b 3ameel zgheer 3enna. Doubt it...They want to show the world that HA are a bunch of criminals who assassinate their opponents and that's why, Fakhoury was saved by smuggling him.
Get out of here with your logicI think the whole world is busy tackling the corona virus outbreak. Ma be3te2ed 7adan hammo b 3ameel zgheer 3enna. Doubt it...

Just a guess, but it may have been more personal than geopolitical. (Shaheen is the US Senator who threatened a massive sanctions bill against Lebanon if he's not freed)So, why did America b3ezz elcorona, smuggled Fakhoury and Trump thanked the Lebanese government for its cooperation?
The fact that the US protects Fakhouri is normal, the real question is why did Fakhouri insist on coming to lebanon ?Just a guess, but it may have been more personal than geopolitical. (Shaheen is the US Senator who threatened a massive sanctions bill against Lebanon if he's not freed)
Yes, that's the big question. Especially that his daughters have spent the past few months berating us about what an Iranian shithole Lebanon is, why did their dad go back in the first place and how? There's a lot of 1 + 2 = 5 in this whole thing. The fact that the US protects Fakhouri is normal, the real question is why did Fakhouri insist on coming to lebanon ?
And the way he was received at the airport means it was all pre-arranged before.

The US thing is not really true, he was definitely given different treatment (because of the Shaheen thing, but likely because he's very well-connected in general). Americans languish in jails around the world and senators don't lift a finger, much less threaten sanctions like the ones here.
It was done to calm down the M8 street after the uproar from the release of Fakhoury. They want to show the world that HA are a bunch of criminals who assassinate their opponents and that's why, Fakhoury was saved by smuggling him.
The US sees Lebanon through Israeli eyes and Trump keeps sucking up to Israel.
Nonsense, as America has gotten back over a dozen released prisoners from different countries ever since Trump became president, most having nothing to do with Israel.
The US simply isn’t going to have Lebanon (which is essentially ruled by an Iranian proxy nowadays) to do as it pleases with its citizens. Who do these bozos think they are, trying to act like they’re the dispensers of justice, when known war criminals are political leaders?
On a completely different note, perhaps the release of Fakhouri can pave the way to some form of compromise with Israel. The only Lebanese class who really have a problem with the Jews nowadays are the Shiites. Sure, you have some Christian Lebanese who like to play the whole “anti-Zionist” thing, but let’s be honest with ourselves, nobody really cares besides Hezbollah.
But Lebanon’s political destiny shouldn’t be dependent on what a specific party thinks about the country’s foreign relations.
