Are American Court Orders Enforceable in Lebanon: Lebanon Hands Over its Citizens to a Foreign Country

This is a big scandal. Whoever ordered for this act should be tried for treason. Lebanese citizens are being handed over to another country, without any extradition application or process. Based on American court ruling, two Lebanese citizens are handed over to a foreign government based on a request. Who ordered and accepted for this to be carried out?

Something similar to this used to happen in under the Shah in Iran. Are we officially an American protectorate? This act calls for a massive response against the [email protected]$tard in the Lebanese government that permitted this move. That [email protected]$tard should be drawn from his balls.

Imagine, two Lebanese citizens handed over to Iran because an Iranian court labels them as kidnappers. When in fact based on Lebanese law they're not guilty of that offense. The child is over two years of age and based on Lebanese law, he should be under the custody of the father. Whatever offense this man committed in the US or in the eyes of American law, he broke no Lebanese law. There was no extradition. No legal process followed. He was kidnapped by Lebanese authorities and handed over to a foreign govt. This is a case of our own govt kidnapping its citizens.

It depends what kind of treaty(s) has been signed between the 2 countries.

Also, if there s an interpol warrant in his name, than Lebanon has to abide by it.

Does his (the Lebanese father) action constitute an illegality in the eyes of Lebanese law? Are we to obey an interpol warrant for someone who is deemed innocent in the eyes of the law in Lebanon? What treaty obliges our govt to hand over two citizens deemed innocent under Lebanese law to a foreign govt? Who signed such treasonable treaty? When? Where? Was there a court order in Lebanon permitting his extradition? This apparently constitutes kidnapping by a govt and it was done haphazardly and extra-judicially. Whoever is behind this should be punished even if it is the president of the republic or whoever it may be. This is an act of state kidnapping and treason.

Whoever authorized this kidnapping should be punished. In a country where the citizens have their rights, this is enough to bring down a whole govt and end the political career of whoever is behind this treasonous kidnapping. It is a big scandal. It is a big shame. It is a big disgrace. Just over a year, a foreign govt kidnapped Lebanon's prime minister. Today, the Lebanese govt itself is kidnapping its citizens and handing them over to a foreign govt. We do not have a country. Let us know what we are. A zoo? A whoredom? A borehole of chaos and anarchy? What exactly is this?

Who is the Foreign Minister of Lebanon? Is he aware? Or is he the culprit maintaining silence, with the aim of letting this violation of two Lebanese citizens go unnoticed and to be forgotten?

If these two Lebanese citizens were Christians, arrested illegally and kidnapped and whisked into plane and extra-judicially or arbitrarily extradited to a Muslim country, what would be the reaction of the "Christian rights" parrots in Lebanon? Won't they have asked who authorized such an action without the knowledge of the "Christian president" of Lebanon? Is the Christian president aware of the illegal handing over of two Lebanese citizens to a foreign govt? And these citizens happen to be Muslims.

This is a dangerous event that just took place. If it is not appropriately, conclusively, and sufficiently treated, the hope of the citizens in a country called Lebanon, even if what remains of that hope is the size of an atom, is forever destroyed! There is no hope in a country called Lebanon that would remain. It shows that the rights of its citizens can be violated based on personal decisions and interests. There is no legal basis to extradite a Lebanese anymore. There is no legal basis to arrest a Lebanese or imprison him anymore. It is all based on whims and caprices.

Weeks ago, a Labor Union leader, Bshara Asmar was similarly kidnapped and locked up illegal and then forced to resign for making a joke about a dead man. Today, two Lebanese citizens have been kidnapped and sent to a foreign country. Who are the champions of this amazing future Lebanon that is in the making process? Who are these champions of patriotism that want us to still have hope in such a criminal state that is arbitrarily arresting, detaining, kidnapping and handing over its citizens to a foreign govt? Is this a deliberate act aimed at impressing that foreign govt in exchange for foreign patronage and credibility at the expense of the rights of Lebanese citizens? Are Lebanese citizens being turned unto scapegoats?

This issue is dangerous and many answers are needed to the many and many questions.

    This is great news !

Let criminals and outlaws get their appropriate punishments.
I suggest exporting all criminals in our prisons and outside to the US so they get proper trials

How is that father and his child criminals? In which court of law? Is this a country we are building? We declare whomever we feel like a "criminal"?

Let us ask Trump to appoint a governor over Lebanon once and for all. Our state is incapable of executing justice. At least if we know that we are a US state or colony officially, we'd know whom to hold responsible for our state if affairs. Let us don't pretend we are independent and sovereign. Let us don't pretend we have a govt and country, when we are just like a side chick that foreign govts abuse to vent their sex rage. We are literally being [email protected]@@@@.

Tampa mother, son reunited after father is arrested in Lebanon

It has been 10 months since the father took the boy out of the country. The mother’s lawyer says this is the first time Lebanese authorities enforced a U.S. arrest order.

The process was complicated because Lebanon is not a signatory of the Hague Convention of Intentional Child Abductions, Leduc said, and typically does not extradite people to the U.S. This is the first time Lebanese authorities have agreed to enforce a U.S. arrest order, the lawyer said.

The first time Lebanon is enforcing a US arrest order!

That is the point!! What changed? What happened? Who gave the order in Lebanon? How much did the US pay for it? What is the price? What is the motive? To whose benefit?

Lebanon is not a signatory of the Hague Convention of Intentional Child Abductions.

So where is the law in all of this? This is about personalities and names and "God bless them". This isn't about Lebanese law. This is not about the Lebanese state having laws and order.

What does a son in law have to do with the actions of a father in law? Is this the mafia state mentality you're bringing into Lebanon? We already have enough if it. No need to add more and then raise empty slogans about state building. So you're the traitors who act as western henchmen while pretending to be citizens in the Arab world and of Lebanon. You're painting a bad image of yourself.

I am crying for my country. I am not crying for the man or his son. This case doesn't personally concern me. You're destroying the country further and the law. And guess what? It will still instigate reactions and evoke responses that eventually will not suit you. When you're destroying the state and the law and imprisoning people, arresting them and kidnapping them and handing them over to a foreign country, then be ready for the lawlessness you have sowed and to reap its fruits.

The world over, is it not the job of a court of law to extradite criminal offenders?

Which court in Lebanon authorized this extradition? This is apparently kidnapping. This isn't extradition.

Gebran Bassil is ready to please the devil just to become president...a man who is ready to sell his citizens and hand them over to a foreign country is not fit to be president. He should not be allowed to become and he must be stopped. This isn't a zoo we are living in Mr Basil or a kingdom. Last week, I heard a report that 8 million dollars were spent to build 16 statues of Aoun and be planted across Lebanese territories. What is going on in this country? This isn't what we bargained for with a Aoun presidency.

We don't want any president who will violate Lebanese law and hand over Lebanese citizens to a foreign country.

You can argue all you want about the law in Lebanon favoring fathers and being unfair. For now, that is how the law is. Gebran Basil cannot be judge and juror. This outrage will eventually make him pay dearly. He will suffer the consequences of his excesses and abuses against the country and its people. This is dangerous precedence.
