The way I see it: We're heading towards a mini civil war, followed by a mu2tamar ta2sisi.
Today we wake up on a new political reality after the public admission of HA that there will be no true corruption fight effort from their part because basically they dont give a rat’s ass abt anything if it interferes with the chiite union peace or their fight against israel.
Once again FPM finds itself on the backfoot, completely isolated in this mess and needs to confront this new political reality, the IMF negotiations are going down the drain with the lebanese delegation’s infighting and contradicting numbers(sabotage?), judicial system so afraid to take any actions that every
file becomes quagmired while politicians hide the culprits.
PMA and FPM need to address this new reality and stop hiding behind their fingers. New solutions need to be thought out, a clear push towards complete decentralization and fiscal independence must be made public, a clear overhaul of the juidicial system must be undertaken along a rigorous purge of the old guard and ball-less judges.
You do realize that an F-16 can't really carry that many $$ bills? Plus, at the speed it will be flying, most will end up landing in the sea or in Syria / Israel if they doI kept telling you people to talk to Trump. But all you did was laugh at me, and now look at the mess you’re in.
If I were Michelle Aoun, I’d phone up Mr. Trump immediately and tell him that Lebanon is greatly in need of assistance. Believe me, you’ll see millions of dollar bills being tossed out of F-16s and falling on Lebanese ground.
Are you saying you think HA is not fighting corruption? Meaning, they are corrupted themselves?FPM has been acting in a very sheepishly manner for the past several years, not sure if it believed that's the only way to find solutions without rubbing shoulders with others, or they believed that's how they get to power and make the changes they aspire for, or what.
It was a bit naive, especially when you are only dealing with crooks.
They might have hoped that with the help of HA , one day they will get there.
But even that was naive, i remember MANY years ago when Bassil said there is no resistance without fighting corruption... well taht was MANY years ago. We should've known since then that there is no hope.
It seems today, this disappointment has been solidified.
Well, the FPM needs to figure out where to go next, knowing that now there is NO ONE locally willing to meet them at least half way.
If they really care about principals and values, and NOT chairs... choices will have to be made.
