Yes, but the Papacy is as much an integral part of the history of Christianity as the Caliphate is of the history of Islam.
People don't judge a belief only by its book but also by its adherents, and Pope Pius XI happened to be the highest Christian authority at the time.

In any case, I wasn't judging Christianity but the Catholic church. Of course someone like Jesus wouldn't have endorsed Franco or the Gemayels.

Huh? It's not Christianity per se, but it's a well-known fact that the Catholic church supported the Francoist regime.
You cannot talk about the history of Christianity without mentioning the Popes or the Crusades, or the inquisition.
After all, followers are a reflection of the religion they subscribe to.

If the Pope don't represent Christianity, who does?
I thought you were linking the religion to the political doctrine of fascism...

We7yet petit Jésus la2. Although I'm an atheist, I've always held Christianity (the belief not the Church) to very high standards.
I think it's the only monotheistic religion that is compatible with democracy and human rights.

u guys have twisted ideas when it comes to socialism , capitalism , left right .. conservatism ,liberalism and the list go on ...

Kataeb party , is a "right wing " christian social democratic party as they claim .. their ideology is more close to the benito mussolini , francisco franco political model than to socialist regimes that are mainly left wing ,.. there is a structural and ideological difference between the two models ..

LF in the last years tried hard to model itself after the CDU , a christian democrat right wing party in germany , and Gaegae during the lebanese civil war in the vision of the cold war blocks , he was a USA -Saudi Asset against the soviet and its allies...
Hi Savo,
I thought we discussed this somewhere before!
Where did you get the idea that Kataeb was right wing? Christian? which ideology does it have close to Mussolini or Franco?
Kataeb always voted socialist laws, pro syndicates, left wing policies...
Kataeb joined with the sunni najedde in 1942, to make one party. Kataeb, before 1975, had in its members, 20% shiites, that is 1 in 5. what Christians policies did Kataeb stand for? We were anti french colonization, where most christians parties stood.

I understand that during the civil war, the country was split religiously and kataeb ended up in the pure christian side. But kataeb ideology was never on creating a christan only country!

I can give you plenty of examples on Kataeb having nothing to do with the right, nor with christian parties...
