A small light in a big wall, it s a gd sign , the point to break the mahdale in all the religion , not only christians has diversity .
Not worth the trouble. No need for proportional smoke and mirrors to go back and split the cheese almost the same as ma7adel laws. Just to tell the people we are doing reform!!?? Go back to 60 law then and gerrymander it to get 5 more Christian elected by Christian votes and be done. What a stupid farce!!
See u didnt get the point . I said it s to create diversity in other religion , that s the point

With closed lists in a country like Lebanon it doesn't create any real opportunity. It simply splits the ma7dale in two.
I am not sure what do you mean by that, but one thing is sure the proportional law does not give gifts for free. Anyone who is serious about getting elected must put the needed efforts in order to maximize his % of votes.
Actually I don't understand what do you mean by closed lists. for sure they will be closed since people are voting for lists not for candidates.
If you look at the current situation, most people put the list as is, few who make their own, that's why candidates who break a strong list are rare in Lebanon simply because people vote for the list of the za3im

The proportional law does the same but in an orderly and less complex manner. Add to that it makes sure that the list that takes 51% does not win 100% of the seats.
The proportional law is not ideal but still is better than the current one.
The best is one person one vote. Because people will be able to know who are the candidates and can choose who seems best for them

Closed lists open lists and free lists have to do with wether the ranking in the list is fixed or not and wether you can vote for people in different lists. All of these are options in proportional systems and they still give you proportional representation.

Closed list proportional is the closest to ma7adel in a country like Lebanon. And the proportional part gives you the splitting it into two ma7dale...

Halla2 in Lebanon do people vote for candidates on a list or the political party? They don't care who is on the list. When they support a party they will vote for the whole list.

That's not necessarily true, nor is it the right way. People are looking for a law that can lead to reform and better representation and participation from voters and diverse candidates. Splitting the ma7dale in 2 is hardly reform.

How are you dividing it in two? I ask again if FPM or any other party presented a list would the people vote for the list 'metel ma heiye' or pick and choose? Most people would vote for the whole list.
Chamel Roukoz will be elected in Keserwan doesn't matter what the law is.
