He can't and he won't. Fi 3endak Berri/Hariri/Joumblatt veto.

Funny how they swept auditing the BDL under the carpet and now the company Kroll (which a lot of fake news came out saying it's mossad controlled) who were hired to audit them pulled out from the auditing BDL.

bikaffe manyak*t
Hassan Diab, if he wants to leave something positive in his legacy, should remove Riad Salameh NOW w yrou7o Berri-Jumblat-Hariri ybalto el ba7r! He has the executive powers now and they won't do anything aside from bringing the dollar beyond 10,000 LL. We are collapsing anyways, so if we do that in a slow or fast motion it doesn't matter except that removing Salemeh is an essential step for a quick recovery and serious blow to the trio of 7aramiyeh and their affiliates. Khalasna ba2a! Either Diab has the gut to do something or yrou7 yendab bi beito...

What is Hassan Diab waiting for to uproot Riad Salemeh and send him home?!? I think he already lost and should switch to the mode of 3alayyeh wa 3ala a3de2eh. Let the Hariri-Berri-Jumblat clan of thieves get mad, so what? If Hassan Diab is unable to act now, then there is no reason for him to stay one more minute in the serail. Also, it is time for the masses (not the handful of ze3ran) to prepare for a real revolution.
Diab was told from the people who appointed him to control his zeals, bill 3arabi 7ala2oulou.
Min el ekher. IMF will give Lebanon money if it aligns itself with the countries that lend, yan3i, USA Europe, etc. if Lebanon wants to align itself with the countries the West doesn't like then they shouldn't expect bailout money. So when they are telling Lebanon corruption should go, it means the government central power should be strong, i.e. no corruption (No Hariri, no Jumblatt, no Berri) No parallel governments (no HA).
The choices for Lebanon are political but nobody can take this decision because the power is shared in the hand of the those who the IMF is requestion they go. So the solution should come from the people turning the table on these parties either by election or by revolution, but the people prefer revolouivuitton.

the country will never get out of this schism, it has been engrained since the ottomans.
during the civil war people justified their party’s massacres for the same reasons.
time to just institutionalize it and move on ffs..
    It's difficult.

Having two prominent economists resign from wizarat el meliyeh shows how it is impossible with the current regime to enact reforms. Also, shows how el masaref are in control of the situation and will stop at anything for hurting its pockets and its shareholders (shareholders being prominent crony politicians). Today is a good day for ABL. Yalla, more capital controls and I wouldn't be surprised that your USD accounts in Lebanon will become Lira accounts and the Lira will hit the 12,000 or 15,000 per 1 usd very soon.

need a change of people mentality and ta3assob. so when it comes to elections again these politicians don't become a majority anymore.

    then maybe we can change.

I don't think it will happen in my life time though.

We don't need 3-5 billion $$ from the IMF with further political pressure on the Lebanese people if you can recover tens of billions of $$ from the 7aramiyyeh and their Salemeh partner! Yes the people should hit the streets, and when we say the people not those few idiots hired by parties like FM, PSP, LF, etc. to destroy Beirut and lock people on the streets. Hassan Diab has nothing to lose, the worst that can happen to him is resigning! The only serious blow he can do now is removing Riad Salemeh and unlocking the secrets of how beit el Hariri, Berri and Jumblat robbed us since 1992! W yestarjeh el batrak wel mufti yefta7o temmon btw.

What is happening also is good for local producers and local foods. It is time for us to turn focus to local productions and consume what we produce in Lebanon. This crisis should teach us how to produce what we consume.

I cant imagine we import cows and sheep. Most of our foods are meat based. We should have the largest lfarms in the world producing livestock and we should be the country to export, not import.

Hassan Diab is just a puppet. Whatever FPM or HA tells him to do he will do. Ghazi Wazni is a Berri stooge, so what ever Wazni does it's from Berri's commands. This is how the government work here.

You want real leadership? You need a PM that would stand against all of them, but it's impossible because that PM will not get a vote of confidence in the parliament.

Diab already made good steps but didn't enact them, why? because he is being vetoed from the same political class and the banks. Tkhayyal biddak tdi2 bi mosreyet el siyesiyyeh.

Ghazi Wazni came up with the gov reform plan. Do you think that Berri who is doing his best to sabotage this plan is with him?

Wazni is not Amal ; they brought him la ybahdlou... They are doing their best to torpedo this gov and bring back Hariri with ministers like Ali Hassan Kazeib as a finance minister.

FPM 3an ghaba aw 3an ghaba are helping Berri in his quest!

FPM wants to remove Salemeh since a long time, but baddak tchouf HA if he dares to anger his brother Nabih Berri and the TAEF gangs. Regardless, Hassan Diab is now the PM and there is NOTHING that prevents him from removing Salemeh. Again the worst thing that can happen to him is the zo3ran pushing him to resign and it's OK if he manages to destroy their secret banking keeper.

There is no money to recover, the money is gone and legally spent. Even if you use the law you probably won't find anything illegal... In those circumstances when legality is not ethical, only revolutions will put things back in line as nothing else will.

That's why people should get ready for a real revolution with martial courts (how lovely that will be to see the robbers put on trial in the streets). But again the acting PM has the power to significantly change the game now and no one can stop him if he wants to.

Rafidi, my family grows local produce, we tried to sell before but we couldn't because the whole political climate does not favor agriculture at all. Especially that most of the fertilizers and other materials used to grow local produce are imported. So we only decide to grow things and distribute the produce to our family and close friends and whatever is left we let the farmers sell and keep the earnings to themselves.

Also, Lebanon is a great great place for small scale farming especially that small scale farming promotes bio or organic type farming. Guess how many certification bodies we have in Lebanon for that? None, zero. We used to have Libancert but they closed down and now a lot of farmers who want export to other countries have to get certification from outside (mainly Europe) and it costs a huge amount of money. There are no subsidies from the government at all to help the agriculture to boom and not to mention it is very expensive right now to buy seeds in Lebanon to grow crops. Yes it is time for us to focus on local production I agree, but the government has to pressure the banks and put reforms to stop the banking sector from failing. How can a local farmer pay for all the raw materials he needs to produce crops if the banks put capital control and doesn't allow farmers to pay for fertilizers, irrigation equipment, etc... ? There is no money in the agricultural sector unfortunately.

It is only normal for Riyad Salemeh; Marcel Ghanem; and Walid Joumblat to attack Biffani! What's not normal is Kanaan and Alain Aoun siding with them by not defending Biffani and adopting the Banks' numbers.

Wazni is a stooge, he can't enact anything without Berri's approval even if it was his plan. Berri would never give the ministry of finance to anyone without his approval.

Yet FPM approved in renewing Salemeh's term.

You either oppose the renewal of Salemeh's mandate and show your intention that you want a new person or you don't.
