There's a significant amount of difference between a caveman who had no other option than to use a spear and a modern man who willingly chooses to use one!

If you don't see the need to compensate for something/assert your masculinity I'm thinking you belong to that category of people who choose to be unnecessarily cruel in order to validate their own self worth!
Killing is an instinct, it complements the survival one.

Taking pleasure and enjoying killing is definitely not an instinct lol!

Also if the shoe fits, why should I deny Cinderella her prince :p?

One leads to immediate death while the other leads to unnecessarily prolonging their suffering.

Anyway I personally find absolutely no enjoyment in either watching or participating in such activities and can't personally relate to men and women who derive pleasure from chasing down and killing an animal. I understand I'm a hypocrite since I have absolutely no issues enjoying wild boar meat but I still judge people who choose to make hunting them down their hobby! Particularly if it envolve phallic shaped objects that they thrust into living beings!
Bullocks! You can shoot a wild animal 10 times and still not kill it. Yet u can kill it with one spear blow if you know what you're doing.

Hunting is all about skill and knowing wat u're doing, and hunters will shame you where u stand if u show any disdain for the life u're taking. At least professional ones. I dont know where u're taking your insights from but its very biased and uninformed.

I'll leave the phallic comment without a rebuttal because it made me lol, nbosté :)

Eh like that opening video that justleb posted where the hog is screaming in agony until he succumbed to his injuries?

Ba3dena of course I'm biased I already said I was biased lol since I don't particularly enjoy watching animals die! You are also biased since I'm assuming you enjoy hunting? So we're never going to see eye to eye on this! The next time you kill a wild boar, licenced of course, feel free to invite me over for barbecue lol!

in the mind of the morally deviant snowflake generation it is not the killing itself that matters, but rather the pain. in a nutshell hayde.
Even the deviant snowflakes still need to eat meat. My problem is by the direct judgimg that poisining or rifles are inherently more

I generally don' t like the hyper regularization in France (for ex like this: A French baker is slapped with a fine -- for working too darn much - CNN) but in this case of reducing the unnecessary and arbitrary killing of animals, I appreciate it.
I really hate the mind set of lebanese people when it comes to hunting where everything is a fair game

There is no unnecessary and arbitrary killing, there are predefined hunting seasons for all animals, so that they dont overpopulate some areas and cause ecosystem changes, crop damage and other hassles.

Regulation to some extent, like defining when one can hunt, is much appreciated. But regulation to join a gun club and partake in hunting action is clearly a series of hoop jumping clearly designed to break ur will both financially and in spirit.

You're slowly but surely turning into a caricature of one of those homeless men with deep rooted psychological issues who keep ranting about god, the afterlife, and "the morally deviant snowflakes", it's really sad!
Or he's turning into that guy who stands on college campuses with huge sign telling everyone they're going to hell.

it takes quite a deviant mind to hold animal rights in one hand and push for abortion in the other. people can always find all kind of excuses not to subscribe to something noble.

true to your long and established tradition, you have gotten everything correctly like usual, starting from your first reply to my comment at @Iron Maiden 's post, and ending with these jewels in your latest post.

one of the reasons why the hogs' population is out of control is because their natural enemies have been pretty much wiped out, the equilibrium is quite messed up. but then again predators in the wild are not exactly a pleasing recipe to mankind. we should exercise much better planning on a completely different level to become a green race instead of focusing on the variety of other colors, if only because our own future as a species depends on it. maybe mankind does not need to f* up every corner of the planet from the highest mountain peek to the deepest ocean pit. we have a responsibility to safeguard the other species and maintain and nurture the diversity of life. but seriously, what percentage of people do you think can actually grasp this concept? i'd say less than 1 in 20, the majority is completely oblivious to these issues..

Texas has hog problem, they are counting in the millions and doing significant damage to the agriculture, so it is always open season for hog hunting.
Many are specialised in hog trapping... and dispatching..

    $2 a head in TX.
Went hunting there in 07 with my friend's pops at their ranch. 4 hours out of Austin... Their version of a Vegas trip.

    Delicious
