Candidates who made it to the parliament with fewer than 300 votes:

1-Eddie Demirjian (Independent, Zahle) 77 votes
2-Mostapha Husseini (Independent, Jbeil) 256 votes

(Makes you think if this law is truly representative of the will of the people)

The PR system is supposed to be around and represent parties and ideologies, not preferential/tafadili votes. Preferential Vote is only decide the ranking of candidates within the list, with voters have 2 or 3 preferential votes not only 1. This is the reason why I voted against Shia duo but not to a list with FPM/FM crooks or any ruling party in it.

But in Lebanon, with the sectarian system combined with single preferential vote someone can become an MP with ZERO preferential votes.

So technically, Eddie and Husseini got a very well deserves seat representing the people who vote for their list.

Come on man! At least he was elected directly by the people. He wasn't appointed by his father-in-law.
