Emirates Fined for Operating Flights in FAA-Prohibited Airspace

Thursday, October 1, 2020
WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) today fined Emirates $400,000 for operating flights carrying the JetBlue Airways code in airspace in which the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) prohibited U.S. operators from flying. The airline was ordered to cease and desist from future similar violations.
The Department granted Emirates economic licensing authority to display JetBlue Airways’ designator code (B6) on flights operated by Emirates to and from the United States so long as Emirates does not permit the JetBlue code to be carried in airspace in which the FAA prohibits U.S. operators and airmen from flying.
An investigation by the Department’s Office of Aviation Consumer Protection found that for 19 days in July 2019, Emirates operated flights carrying the B6 code over parts of Iranian airspace despite the FAA issuing a Notice to Airmen prohibiting U.S. airmen and operators from flying in that region. FAA issued the NOTAM due to heightened military activities and increased political tensions in the region that presented a risk to U.S. civil aviation operations and carried the potential for miscalculation or misidentification. By carrying the B6 code on flights in airspace prohibited by the FAA, Emirates violated the conditions of its authority to operate and engaged in passenger operations to and from the United States without proper DOT authority.
The consent order is available at Emirates Order 2020-9-29 | US Department of Transportation.

Of course the negotiations will be indirect.
These are direct negotiations. Indirect means that we speak to the UN coordinator and he speaks with the Israeli side all in the same room.
Reality is that the Israeli party talks directly to the Lebanese part and 10min later they talk to each other.

Don’t be naive l, these are direct negotiations

What you described is direct talks. I'm not naive enough to believe your interpretation. Indirect talks means indirect talks. That's why they need a mediator.
"Lebanon and Israel have reached an agreement on a framework of indirect, U.S.-mediated talks"
"Indirect talks mean that Lebanese army negotiators will not be speaking directly to members of the Israeli delegation but through U.N. and U.S. officials."

For God’s sake please stop believing what you read.
For sure talks will be direct unless Lebanese want to be seen as retards. Do you think Israeli care ? They are probably laughing at us and the Israeli soldier in front of the Lebanese one is making 50 time more than our poor soldier.

We lost our honor, our money, our land (refugees) and now our brain !?

I am sure if we do a referendum, 80% will call for direct negotiations and peace. This situation is obsolete and only stupid PLO is left behind on their half of whatever they have

Clearly the world is moving on and the Palestinian cause has lost support following the split among the Palestinians themselves, all the missed opportunities, the consequences on the Arab world.

Next one is Saudi Arabia - the situation will be unsustainable for Lebanon as Israel is joining all regional organisations. Soon Lebanon will be left alone

The difference is that the UAE is one of the most amazing country in the world to live and work while all what the Palestinians did was to bring misery to their people and their neighbours. They keep criticising everyone while it is their fault entirely. The UAE should expel all Palestinians

Have you heard of more people in Lebanon openly saying that Lebanon should seek normalization with Israel? Even if that means that not all of Lebanon's desires on refugees are met?

What do your own friends & relatives living in Lebanon think of having relations with Israel?

I assume that a majority of Lebanese don't want a peace deal with Israel and Lebanon couldn't agree to a peace deal even if the majority wanted one due to Hezbollah's veto, but I often wonder if the taboo on anyone publicly talking about a peace deal will start to erode.

I hated the UAE. It’s just a big shopping mall full of stupid rich Arab cucks and their Russian hoes, thrown in with a lot of Indians. It’s understandable how they bent over so fast (and to such a high degree) for Zion.
