Good to see that finally the Jisr is finished. ElMatn has been deprived of projects and now has a new bridge. Its debatable whether it was the best solution to the traffic problems but no one can deny its a good step. Why isn't there a formal launch ? Are the planners worried about the effectiveness and waiting for the results first ? dunno. But its a job well done.

our areas have been starved from infrastructure
thank god for Tayyar for forcing the govt to build some there

they will do a formal opening on a later date
General has few overseas visists and more work needed inside the towns, to widen and the roads leading to the bridge

It will be a good advertisment if someone replaces the clock. It is not maintained by the council. It's been stuck for ages but no one looks at it. Does anyone know how much a new one with UPS will cost ? if money was to be raised.. I think the kataeb put it in in the war days. Not sure.
Seiko or another company could help.

Because it substancially increased the traffic jam for 99% of the ppl while only be advantagious to around 1%.

I pass by the bridge everyday and never see more than 2-3 cars on it.

Thanks for answering... I haven’t been to lebanon lately. What’s wrong with the design that it doesn’t reduce the traffic jam for 99% of the people?

They tightened the road tremendously, we used to never have traffic jams there now its unbearable.

I dont know how it could have been done better honestly im not an architect but im sure there were better ways then spending millions on 2 out of place bridges thay are barely used, the bridges are only for ppl coming in and out of Jal el dib which are an extremely small portion of people to save them around 5-10 mins.

Now u need around 1:30 hour from Jounieh to Dora.

The bridge was never presented as a solution for the jams
Rather than an answer to the never ending residents demands being unable to exit into Jal el Dib southbound beirut until Nahr l Mot

The bridge took a lane off the motorway to implement a much needed exit, how in your mind was it supposed to diminish traffic jams ?

You have to consider the amount of people who attacked everyone fiercly for removing the old bridge and asked day in and day out for a new bridge to be made. It was hysterical reading about it once a week on the newspapers. You would have been named a hero if you had the ability to convince those bunch about the negative effects of such a bridge.

the bridge main function is for the jal dib area and residents to ease their entrance and exit to their area
which it has achieved its purpose and maybe reduced the traffic little

as for the traffic jams, thats another beast all together
we are waiting for fino the mini rabbit to come up with a plan.

while fino is blaming nature and gebran

by spring tayayr has secured the funds for the widening of Jounieh - North road ( la7 nesma3 na22 for 2 years ) and anther road expansion and tunnel passing through keserwan to safra ( casino area) ( kamena we will hear a lot of nagging from useless cunts)

The works are not done yet, that's why the road is still a little tighter than previously.
As for it only being useful for 1%, I don't believe so. If you think about it, people who wanted to come into Jal El Dib, used either Antelias or Nahr el mot, so now the traffic on both should also diminish. Same thing for the car going out of there.

I think we need to wait until all works are done to see if the effect was positive or negative
