The admiral in charge of the ship said it was docked in Lebanon after completing joint maneuvers with the Lebanese Army.
In particular, the joint maneuvers concentrated on securing maritime trade and protecting infrastructure.
U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Elizabeth Holzhall Richard said the presence of the military barge in Lebanon is a political message confirming the depth of the partnership between the United States and Lebanon.
“The partnership with the Lebanese Armed Forces is not limited to the assistance provided by Washington,” Richard said.
“The relationship with Lebanon is not limited to military cooperation. We are committed to helping the Lebanese people during this difficult economic period. Maritime security will become even more important,” she added.

Only in Lebanon does a country sanction your people and you respond with a “thank you.” You think the crumbling of our economy is completely divorced from the policies of the US? They can say they’re targeting only HA, but HA is part of Lebanon, and their economic plights will become Lebanon’s economic plights. And it’s already happening, next time any of you are in Lebanon you will see how all Lebanese are jumping at the sight of US currency.

Keep dreaming. It’s increasingly clear that half this forum is either 14 years old or not actually Lebanese.

Hating a party is your right. But hating a party to the point that you’ll sabotage the whole country is stupid.

The FPM is the primary reason this country hasn't collapsed yet, and is the only party actually serious about building a government.

I was talking about the party FPM is covering and leveraging.

+1 for the joke though, "primary reason..." ?.

    Today Bassil spoke
    Not impressed
He claimed no problem with LAF
But still only a few indirect words on Nasrallah speech
    I was not convinced
Hope the President in NY before the UN react to Nasro speech

The party is destroying the country by linking himself to a regional war and protecting corruption

the party in question are Iranian tentacles in the country. sabotaging the whole country?? looks like u forgot who sabotaged the country all over these years. 2 years outside, no parliament, no cabinet, then the little takeover in may in west beirut and some areas in aley/chouf, then then then continue??

Your solution to a party sabotaging the country is to further sabotage the country? Eh shou 3melna?

Don’t victim blame. The ones responsible for sanctions first and foremost are always the ones implementing them.

And sanctions are never about targeting “bad people.” They are about collective punishment. Let’s use Iran as an example since we are talking about HA. What does a sick 5-year-old Iranian girl have to do with her government’s actions? Well sanctions prevent her from receiving her medication. What sanctions don’t do is make Khameini or any Iranian government official lose a minute of sleep.

Sanctions will not make any HA official go broke. Nor will they make any government/political official in Lebanon go broke. The only ones who will continue to go broke are the already broke Lebanese people.

    Keep applauding them.

The purpose of sanctions is twofold, financially hurt the operations of their targets and turn public opinion against them.

It is why you see Hizbullah needing to perform an escalation, in an attempt to bring back that public support.

And no one is responsible for the sanctions except Hizbullah. As you see, Hizbullah's actions have consequences. And those consequences will eventually harm Lebanon in the process.

Great. Well I genuinely hope whatever family you have in Lebanon doesn’t have to starve one day just for you to say HA got owned.

And someone who denies a sick 5 year old girl her medication to blackmail a sovereign state will never be a moral authority. When US sanctions kill people, it just reaffirms to the people in these countries why they dislike the US in the first place.

What do you propose besides sanctions?
