the second seat is guaranteed.

All [major] leb parties are za3im parties and not real ones (maybe the exception is HA they are not a za3im party but a foreign franchise one)...if they were their leaders would have changed with time if they did not you are lying to yourself
LF leaders changed with time (Bachir Gemayel, Fouad Abou Nader, Elie Hobeika, Samir Geagea) same as HA who haven't changed their leader since the appointment of Nasrallah

Bachir was killed
Fouad was a placeholder while waiting
Elie hobeika and Samir fought it out.
Ever since it never changed. It is now a cult of personality and ma fi LFer that was against geagea that is still LF coz he is been the leader (active or not because of prison since 1985).
HA is even worse if i was not clear.

LF are the strongest Right-wing party in Lebanon, the alternatives are Ahrar-GOTC-National bloc, but if they can't get an MP to represent them LF are the only option

What are the right-wing policies that geagea is pushing for?

LF a year ago expressed their economic stances (Party President Samir Geagea even expressed his encouragement of Free Market Capitalism in Lebanon)

The only visionary Lebanese leader in recent history was Bashir. He assembled a true intelligent force of young intelligent men under his thumb. Once he was assassinated they turned to greed and tretiary. All our leaders have been reduced to simple traditional feudals. You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig. Our only hope is a risky second civil war then a real partition. The people who start the second war will not finish it. New winners will evolve. Similar to 1975-1990.

we've been in a downward spiral ever since the Christian street turned against fouad shehab and closed the second bureau. since then Christians in particular have not learned much from their experiences, and are not only repeating the same mistakes, but they have been consistently making bigger and bigger ones, and this is not on a political level, it is rather on the level of the individual choices. it is only normal under these circumstances that the state of mind of the people will reflect on many if not all political parties, albeit in different degrees.

it is not a coincidence the next battle ground for the upcoming elections is strictly in the Christian street, you can convince them with all kinds of crap with minimal effort.

michel mouawad was 3000 votes short of the required hassel, it was closed from FPM's share. not having him on the list in reality works in favor of FPM this time around. as to georges atallah he got 3300 votes, now he has exposure working in his favor, he has proven himself since and grew to be respected and admired. but of course these are not the sole criteria.

the forum is riddled with emotional people deprived of objectivity, and what you pasted upthere falls in this category, the numbers clearly indicate that. now despite the polls indicating FPM will get two seats, things may turn out differently, though it is unlikely.

Didn't the second bureau turned into a quasi police state?

I think it's the opposite, they've been following the same leaders for the past decades despite the latter overpromising and severely underdelivering.

that bureau was everything that was standing between the Lebanese and civil war. Lebanese like all people in the region, are not ready for democracy, and they need to be policed around the clock, in particular with hundreds of thousands of armed refugees in the mix.

feel free to think what makes you feel better. it doesn't really matter. it is next to impossible to reverse the trend now.

Sadly, I cannot disagree. But what in your opinion is the long-term solution for this? No pessimism please :p

I meant that they followed the same people for many years and it ended in disappointment for many of them that is they're more malleable to be influenced by new voices now.
it is next to impossible to reverse the trend now.
What trend is that? Further division of the Christians into numerous parties?
