Here 's some historical background. The Nuremberg trials of the Nazi war criminals, established a foundation principle that rejects the reason of a higher order, meaning that no one can say he did the crimes because he was ordered to. The court estimates that there is always a way to avoid, or reject, carrying criminal orders...

Now back to the guy, siding with enemy was his choice and not his destiny, he could have chosen to go anywhere in the world and build a life there especially that he was 17 at that time. But he has chosen to go with the enemy. so for me, no excuse.
I am not saying others didn't do the same, but instead of going with the israelis they went with the syrians.
I, as a lebanese citizen who holds his country dear to his heart, can't but think of him as traitor...
Actually you were right
i watched another interview of him, (just the first section about his early life and childhood)
His father is originally a Russian businessman and hotels owner in Beirut
his mother is originally Cypriot
Even though he was born and grew up in Beirut/Aintoura, he never considered Lebanon as his country, and as per his Mom's wishes, he should graduate and immigrate to Israel as it is the destined country of the 'Jews' and so he did...

Interestingly, and while being a Mossad officer, he went back to Beirut to finish his Doctorate in 1987...

This is nothing but massaging your ego. And big egos you have. When you were living in castles, you didn't want anyone to live along in castles. You pretended as if those living in "dumps" weren't Lebanese or living along with you in the same country. So stop misrepresenting history. Most of your posts are like those of a sectarian kid, who's butt hurt that his dad isn't stronger in the end. To this day, if you can, you will only have a country for yourselves and only you will live the "good castle life". The aim was to frustrate the lives of others and make them feel subjugated, dominated, and finally eliminated peacefully by having them leave and migrate in droves. The situation was not much different from apartheid Israehell except that the people of the land weren't denied right to citizenship and those exercising discrimination were themselves from the same land and not an imported stock from elsewhere as Israehellis are.

Today, we are seeing the same thing repeating itself. Albeit not under sectarian discrimination but under class and economical discrimination.

Go to certain areas, you will see clean streets, nicely taken care of environments and good sceneries and organised traffic, more hours of electricity supply, clean water supply etc. Go to other areas where people are either not urban, high class or not very wealthy or not as wealthy and influential (they have little or no direct ties with the crooks and mafia clique ruling the country) and you be slapped with the odor of garbage dumps, poor electricity and water supply, dusty environments, poor drainages and bad roads etc. For instance, travel on the coastal highway to the South, and experience how the sweet breeze is mixed with stench. If you confront those in charge, the excuse would be certain areas have to be taken care of because of tourists. The people of the country, in their majority are suffering in silence, literally dying in silence, struggling economically and they are milked by an ungodly system of every penny to satisfy the insatiable thieving govt and its henchmen - who have big appetites to use the wealth they don't deserve or earn to live good lives, while they only bother about the well-being of the tourists who stay some days or a week in Lebanon and go back to their countries. This is the reality in areas inhabited by ALL communities. If the Lebanese are woke, they would have united as patriots and gotten rid of the rotten system and every trace of sectarianism and its pioneers. Kick them out!
the problem is people like you. you tend to blame the whole structure instead of people those who are in charge. people elect these thieves. in the south masalan blame the representative that are there the ones you voted for. they are in charge of the south, they were elected werent they?? you cant blame an MP in tripoli for the mess u have in the south or vice versa.

I'm Armenian, remember? I'm from Bourj Hammoud. It started as a refugee camp for genocide survivors.

Try your excuses on someone else.

Well as a top Mossad it is surprising that he does not know that Aoun is not born in the deep south.

    well
he said he 'comes' from the deep south,
Granted he was born in Hart Hreik, but his parents were originally from Jezzine so he kind of got it right.

He was born and grew up in Haret Hreik, so he's not from Jezzine. Even if he was it is not deep South and it is not HA heartland, Jezzine is Christian and it is city most to the North of South Lebanon, hardly any deep

Good observation! With the short period he lived in Lebanon he learned fast the Lebanese B.S.
I wish someone would ask him who killed Elie Hobeika. He’s always quick to accuse The Syrians and Hezbollah of assassinating Bashir and Hariri without explaining how the Mossad were not aware of the plot against Bashir and who gave Shartouni (without his knowledge) the long distance sophisticated Israeli made wireless detonator. Not to mention the timely presence of Mossad agents who picked up Bashir’s body and took it to Hotel Dieu to identify him and make sure he’s dead.
Just for the record, all the above assassinations were the result of what is considered “betrayal”. You blow up your own drone when you lose control of it.
Bashir declared his independence in order to re-unite the country. His assassination followed by Sabra and Shatila took the country back to square one.
Hariri refused to turn against the Syrians publicly during his last visit to the White House sighting their presence was still needed for security reasons. His assassination blamed on the Syrians drove the Syrians out so conveniently.
Hobeika finally turned against his allies and was scheduled to testify against Ariel Sharon War Crimes in International Courts. The rest is history.
Those are samples in a long list of assassinations that no one can prove their culprits for obvious reasons. Speaking of which, JFK assassination is no different…

Michel Aoun is originally from Jezzine.
