This is a fiasco - Those idiots.

Riad Salameh will issue a clarification for the above as soon as possible, this is related only to money transfers (OMT, WU, MoneyGram, etc...) not to banks.

it's a bit vague,
but you're right it doesn't affect bank transfers even though it says
تعديل القرار الأساسي المتعلق بالعمليات المالية والمصرفية بالوسائل الالكترونية

I guess it would be too much to ask for an actual economist or financier to get the position. I would sure hope next time around Berry can at least try to find a thief with these minimal qualifications.

seriously you're blaming the wazir because he is from a certain party? innou wa22afit 3al wazir? the country's debt is 160% of it GDP, how is that sustainable in the long term, if nothing is done the country will keep paying interest on existing bonds and issue new ones, increasing debt and increasing entertaining the debts this accelerating the amounts. Their only solution is an economical revolution where the borrowing finances investment for a sustainable economic growth. sustainable means beyong constructing a few buildings to inflate the GDP, there is needs to be factories and production with high income that can be taxed by the gov without bankrupting them or government financed programs that bring money, like for example O&G. But with the paralysis and the people we have governing_or not for that matter_ there is no way the money will go for the government, they will steal it and finance project tizfit bill day3a and pocket the remaining 90% so that they can stay in power. The fiasco of the status quo in Lebanese voters will remain the same.
Unless the lebanese throw away all these crooks in government and parliament, yes investors (who are not part of the corruption scheme) should be worried

Do not be surprised, the path to collapse is part of the plan. who remembers those innocent people who died in Syria ?
the answer: No one !! all the talk is about 2i3adet al 2e3mar.
Lebanon is following this path that will lead into another civil war or the dismantle of HA as a military power.
only then they will erase your debt. of course you will have to give the Palestinians the Lebanese nationality

yes sadda2nek because you had a meeting, also sadda2nek because everything is under control in the country as the government is functioning normally!

These kind of declarations are made to stop the further bleeding and repair some of the damage. What you have said is true, but no need to further worsen the Lebanese economy via unilateral [false] declaration by a minister.

Sorry guys; but no one is waiting Ali Hassan Khalil to state the obvious; we will never be able to repay the debt.

All the international institutions are saying this...

And by the way why should we pay the debts stolen by corrupt politicians (thats include Khalil and his political party as well btw) ? What happened to the Ibra22 el Mousta7il btw ?

The banks benefited from the lebanese state for years and years; the corrupt politicians milked this state; for 80 billion dollars debt in a small country like Lebanon we should have infrastructure that are equivalent to first world countries; how come we are so miserable ?

A strong president like Michel Aoun should speak frankly and openly with the politicians and the banks about these issues; a reform and change party like FPM should do the same (and it already had a plan regarding this no?) Shou sar why no one is speaking about these issues anymore except for civil society demonstrators and an outdated LCP ?

Lebanon,s economy will def collapse given the mafia in power.
and this mafia where did it come from? in the beginning they (FPM) used to accuse Hafez el Assad as being the head of this system, yet Hafez died but the mafia system remained and they are part of this system themselves. Later accusing Bashar and Bashar can barely control his own country.
how do you explain it now ?
Lek balad has been in a no government status since 2005 !!! yes, pre-dating the war in Syria (2011). Kif Meshe sarlo aktar min 10 years bi doun 7oukoumeh ? kif ?
when fi hek model bel 3alam? wein?. why do we keep hiding the real problem which is political and never economical? ... never !!

leh prior to 2005 ke fi houkoume? Ken fi Hariri and his goons robbing the people in addition to whoever is there now, but Hariri was robbing them even more by stealing their land and inflating growth with construction without any manufacturing. There was no vision for investment for future growth, and he pocketed much more then everybody else doubling his wealth.
