two components of the cartel blocking the implementation of the power reforms have been exposed already:

1- the rahme component which is in a close partnership with franjieh and the LF
2- the bassatni component which is in a close partnership with walid jumblat and has close ties to nabih birri's amal.

a new piece of the puzzle falls into place with the jadid report. there are other pieces still missing, and this is only with regards to the energy sector, i expect that the same people are also involved with different cartels that control other sectors.

now we understand the real reason, at least in part, why bassil is always under attack. the cartel makes couple of billion dollars from controlling the fuel-oil traffic, and the bigger portion of these profits go to politicians who are have a strong representation in the government, and have the power to block the construction of new power plants that operate on natural gas rather than on fuel oil.

it should also be noted that millions of dollars from this operation are being sprinkled on the media and many journalists to keep spreading confusion and prevent the people from realizing the power, the extent and the reach of this cartel.

it is normal and expected that they will not give up this plot without a tremendous fight. i only wonder if the Lebanese are up to it.

Is Sil3ata Power Plant required to guarantee and sustain a reliable 24 hours power converging for Lebanon as a whole?
In other words, is Sil3ata Power Plant good for Lebanon?
I find it difficult to believe the FPM insisting on Sil3ata just to benefit the Christian area at the expense of the national interest. Could it have to do with making that specific area power independent now that “federalism” is being promoted by some?
On the other hand, I find it hard to believe those who voted against it especially HA are playing some game while the people are suffering and the country is bleeding cash.
    So what gives?

If we learnt anything from the past 15 years is to never trust FPM with any electricity plans.

Dimianos kattar said that sel3ata is essential for 24/24 electricity UNLESS we have renewable energy. So basically the two others aren’t sufficient as they are planned now.

Sounds like those who opposed it are visionary environmentalists who drive Prius to work;)

Well as the elect original plan that was approved by the previous gov sel3ata is required.
On the other hand it is required to have a power plant in chritians area since these areas are paying most of the elect. Bill.
The secterian haters like nawal berri can go f.k. themeselves if they r not happy with it.
