Country's in for quite the bumpy ride if prices go from 80,000 to 250,000 L.L or higher suddenly

Take any number you want, on any line, it is still cheaper than Canada... I understand the Lebanese earn less, but for me to understand this I need to undestand how much people are earning and what percentage of their earning goes on gas. With 3-4 exchange rates and people earaning part in Lebanese and part in dollar on I do not know which rate and with lollars and dollars in the market, this way more than confusing to me.

There is a fact that the state is not earning any $, and can't subsidize anything anymore other than bread using international donations.
With a crippled economy sooner or later there will be no $ for subsidizing anything.
Even if what is left of depositors $ is spent to the last penny, this will extend the current situation for few months.....what next?
Lebanese must accept the fact that the current political/economical system is finished and start working on alternatives immediately.

The dogs of Amal took over 8 main distribution stations in South and Beka3 and diverted the current to Shiite areas.
The result was unbalance in the network frequency and voltage which led to total shutdown over all Lebanon.
Berri is declaring war on the state and on Christian areas and our coward leaders and parties are not showing any reaction.
The reply to this act of war by Berri /Shiites against the state and Christian areas must be by resigning of all Christian MPs from the baltaji parliament and calling from Bkerki for a new federal system, then start elections in Christian areas to elect the Christian federal state parliament.

No one is declaring war on anyone. This is paranoia, conspiracy therory and loser's typical defense consisting of continuously blaming others.

When you let the country completely collapse by refusing for over a year to form a government, when you initiate zero initiative or financial plan in 2 years now from the beginning of the crisis, when you turn your back to the french initiative, then don't be surprised that the country will collapse completely. And when You have no country anymore, then people will start self-managing themselves. Every region will do its best to survive, because there is no more central government and no captain on board.

Yesterday Nasrallah was very clear, he said that no one is governing the country anymore which is totally true. He said You cannot rule with military council's meeting like Aoun is doing because the military council cannot replace the government. And he said he is going to bring Iranian fuel whether the government is OK with it or not, which is another proof that there is no state anymore.

Aoun is not the sole responsible for the current financial collapse (although he is not completely innocent either, because everybody knew since 2015 that if reforms and Cedar were not approved we were gonna reach that point.) However, he obviously has zero skill to manage a crisis, zero skill to find solutions, I would never have thought that he could manage to get the country into a worst situation than the one he brought to himself and us after the 1989-1990 unplanned and disastrous triple lost wars, failure and debacle.

In a way we are living something similar to Afghanistan, a complete collapse of its institutions. Only the election of a new president who will tart acting rationally and logically will put the country back on track.

And I fully agree with you, that MP's should resign from parliament immediately and new elections held.

I agree up to a point. I don’t think a new or different president would solve anything. As I said, there is almost no money to steal anymore. Hence the parasites attempts by all means to keep getting some nutrients while the host is near dead…

Another president wouldn't have solved the country's issues magically and instantly of course. But another president whomever it is, even Lahoud, Hrawi, Jean Obeid, or any dude you pick up randomly on the street would have acted normally and rationally. Which means, he would have never kept a sinking country for a whole year without a government for silly reasons. He wouldn't have kept the country 2 years without international funding(IMF or other). He would have grabbed the french initiative like a life buoy, not ignore it completely.

If we had a government last year we would have initiated the french initiative and starting to climb back from the hole in which we felt. Instead of this, he is happy presiding the military council every couple of weeks, happy to ask the BDL to keep paying till the last penny, and happy to ask the caretaker government of Diab to meet, instead of hurrying up forming a new government.
