Ya habibe, 2ardak heyde. Walla 3ayb. These are your rightful borders. Stop making unreasonable excuses to give up on our rights and on the rights of future generations.

Do you even realize what you're saying? The Israelis shouldn't be digging in that area in the first place! They wouldn't be, if it weren't for the traitors within this country. And you want us to bend over? Why? Why would we permit a foreign aggressor to steal our natural resources with our blessing?!

Secondly, wasn't it you and @Patriot who celebrated Sleiman Franjieh's idiotic rant about the gas being a lie? Looks pretty damn stupid in retrospect, doesn't it?
Until today no gaz
You talk about sovereignty great
Disband HA who is a militia
And don’t forget Syria stealing 1000 skm of your own established maritime border
Let’s see if the negotiations will resume
Let’s see if total will continue its drilling

The same claim to our rightful borders in the South have been upheld for years in the North, and by the same people - Aoun and the FPM.

You know what has obstructed our efforts in the North? Hariri, Geagea and Joumblat - the scum you support. By vetoing any contact with the Syrian government, they effectively halt negotiations indefinitely.

I think the pressure was sufficient. FPM and Aoun alone did not suffice, but when other “independents” pushed in the right direction they had to do it, it was no longer possible to duck it and survive the political/popular pressure... regardless, l7amdella we did something right as a people :)

That’s remain to be seen
Will negotiations resume
Will total continue its work

Will see if they continue negotiations

Say what you will about the merits of Israel's boundary claim, but Israel has been very consistent about what its claim is. Lebanon, by contrast, has made multiple different claims over even the last 12 months.

This article gives Israel's interpretation of Lebanon's claims:

One view has it that Lebanon isn’t really interested in reaching an agreement, only wishing to show the Trump administration that it was willing to negotiate to avoid risking disagreement with the Americans. The Lebanese leadership is also aware of the intense domestic media coverage of the talks, in which the delegation is being portrayed as courageously fighting for the country’s legitimate rights.

According to a different interpretation, the Lebanese have come to the table by approaching the talks like a Mediterranean bazaar – grabbing what they can through maximum demands, and in the end somehow reaching a compromise.

Another reason for their inflexible approach may relate to internal dynamics in the country involving Hezbollah, which had to agree to the opening of negotiations but was in no way enamored with them. Iran, interestingly, is keeping mum.
