Looting, rape, slavery, mass killing and other mischiefs have actually always been inherent to empires workbooks.
these are the consequences of the battle that precede the expansion and they do not describe an empire.
unfortunately all the new generation confuse setting up high walls, borders, passports and barriers at the airport as "empire"

an empire is a seamless inter connected expansion of the land without borders or passports. See the photo of the maps you posted above.
the concept hold true except that of Britain who calls itself wrongfully an empire and was the first country to set-up colonies (military bases)
to loot the resources of other nations and cause only destruction and mass murder of innocent civilians, followed by the french and their american inheritors.

empires build after expansion and establish laws of stability, make reforms, bring in new technology and civilization, make BI-DIRECTIONAL cultural exchange of knowledge. they do not spread chaos, leave countries in ruins and put warlords as rulers to help them with resources looting.

But who's to blame but the rulers of the Arabian peninsula, giving these immoral uncivilized thieves an uninterruptible supply of oil and gas. If one day,
these resources stop being pumped or are reduced to a minimal limit, those scum calling themselves "empires" will know their true size.

Yes, it is poetry, but it is poetry berthed by reality.
illusion for the weak of heart and the coming days will prove this to you.
the answer for killing people to steel their resources is terrorist and none of the "so-called" empires will able to stop it

Here is how situation looks from aside.

For centuries, while it existed, British empire regarded itself as such and everyone around she did the same.

All of a sudden here come Le منشار and decides that British Empire no longer suits him for his politically expedient point does not stick if it does.

Please, forgive my bluntness, but you look like a fool.

ok as you like. to each his opinion. Just research the rule of well known ancient empires and how they directly ruled for centuries and you will understand the difference between true empires and Darwinian post industrial revolution so called "empires"

Contiguous vs non-contiguous territory of empire is non-factor geography geography and mode of transportation do not define empires, however presence of metropolis and colonies does.

metropolis is a sign of empire, so far non have been notice, only destruction and chaotic states ... colonies and military bases are the only reality and these only constitute a protection outpost for mining resources from other countries without giving anything to these countries in return. this is by no means an empire. The word "colonies" is derived from colon, meaning tail ... "ذنب" or tentacles !!

such description didn't fit any of the empires pre-industrial revolution era

Unlike some empires, the US empire does not seek to expand its civilization, but rather to control/destroy others and steal their resources. Similar to the Ottoman empire and before that, to the Mongol empire.

    God Bless America! :)

    Oh, say can you see,
    By the dawn's early light,
    What so proudly we hailed,
    At the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars,
    Through the perilous fight,
    O'er the ramparts we watched,
    Were so gallantly streaming.
    And the rocket's red glare,
    The bombs bursting in air,
    Gave proof through the night,
That our flag was still there.
Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave,
For the land of the free, and the home of the brave.

Wow, this looks awesome. We hear a lot about Morocco and Tunisia, but not so much about Algeria.
It sounds like an underrated travel destination.
