The finance ministry went to Youssef Khalil, Riad Salameh's right-hand man
Did it ever occur to you the shortest cut to get to Riad Salameh is through an insider who's his right hand man?

Now that the chips are down and the whole band is surrounded thanks to GMA’s insistence on fighting the anti corruption battle at all costs, Youssef Khalil will be begging for immunity in exchange for delivering Riad Salameh and unlocking all the secrets of Ali Baba network. That’s how the FBI nailed John Gotti and his network: Through giving immunity to his second grade officers who spilled the beans…

I thought about that too but you do sell a lot of fantasy stories so I'm not raising my hopes up on anything again until I see it done

Going to the moon used to be a fantasy. It didn’t happen overnight. Mistakes were made and accidents happened during the process but we got there.

I don’t believes in revolutions because they backfire most of the time due to people’s spontaneous and emotional high expectations but I do believe changes are continuously happening through evolutions and failed revolutions can have positive effects on evolutions because we all learn from mistakes.

Let’s give it a few weeks before surrendering to Samir Geagea and Hariri desperate propaganda and wishful thinking believing they are the only ones who can save the day.

You can get a good feel about the direction we are going on by reading headlines from various corners of the world. I looked at a dozen headlines yesterday about Mikati government and I’m optimistic: None of them mention Hezbollah or Iran influence in the government. Most Western and Gulf expressed French and British (which is US indirect message) support. F.T. presented Mikati as successful Billionaire; J.P. only concern Mikati will accept help from anyone but Israel. Turkey and the Gulf showed support; Armenian paper bragged about an Armenian minister in the Lebanese government but, for some reason The Daily Star didn’t like it at all…;)

Are you really counting on Aoun to knock Salemeh out, knowing he succumbed to US pressure and extended his term last time?
It’s a bit more complicated than that my friend.

Riad Salameh is/was an American asset and a dynamo inside Lebanon’s financial system. He’s deeply rooted after 30 years ruling Lebanon not just the BDL and doing a great job for his bosses. It used to go unnoticed in Lebanon when a low level US treasury officer shows up at the BDL unannounced to sit with Salameh and audit his work and give him new assignments. FYI, Dorothy Shea is in trouble with her bosses for her recklessness exposing her country’s policies on regular bases. The latest one when she went to Baabda following SHN announcing the Iranian fuel tanker. But another one when she supported Riad Salameh publicly when he was under fire… Knowing their credibility and track record about their loyalties in protecting their friends and assets, the Americans drop their assets, even exposes them to be burred by their adversaries as soon as they become heavy liabilities and that’s what is happening now to Riad Salameh thanks one more time for GMA's stubbornness and insistence on fighting corruption and genie is out of the bottle now. That was the only way for the President or even the Parliament to oust such valuable American asset. Lucky, the EU is ready to jump all over Salameh
with the US green light who violated so many International and especially European financial laws believing he will always be untouchable under Uncle Sam’s umbrella. No one seems to learn from history and that times do change with natural evolution.

Lebanon's TV star-turned-information minister Georges Kordahi returned Sunday to Beirut from the UAE in order to assume his missions as a member of the new government.

Perhaps the best-known face in the new government, Kordahi's years as the host of the Arabic version of the popular game show 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire' made him a household name in the entire region.

Kordahi however caused an uproar after addressing "some geniuses and analysts" who "appeared on TV channels over the past two days and analyzed the government’s formation and its quotas."

"Let them calm down a bit," Kordahi told reporters at Beirut's airport, calling on media outlets "not to host them, because the government has just been formed."

Kordahi's remarks did not sit well with the Journalists For Freedom group, which voiced regret and concern over his statements.

"He began his ministerial work by asking media outlets not to host journalists and media figures who do not share his opinions," the group said.

"No Mr. journalist minister, neither you nor any other official can decide for media outlets whom to host, and if you have started your mission in this manner, you should know that you are an information minister in a country in which freedoms are stronger than mindless dictations," the group added.

"You are also in a country that is different than the models that you resemble and pride yourself in," the group went on to say, suggesting that Kordahi is a supporter of authoritarian regimes.

Also speaking to reporters at the airport, Kordahi described Lebanon as "a plane that is making an emergency landing."

"We must all cooperate in order to give a glimpse of hope to the people," the minister added, promising citizens that the new government "will try to do everything that is positive."

"Those who want to take us to hell must calm down because we don't want that. Whoever wants that can go alone," Kordahi said.

The National News Agency meanwhile reported that the minister was mobbed by a group of people at the airport who congratulated him on his new missions and asked him to carry out positive steps.

😂 what a pathetic gov.

Wishful thinking. Mr Trump made
sure that it would be almost impossible for the Biden administration to enact any significant policies, domestic or international.

I’ll leave you now to continue reading those leftist newspaper rags….

He's okay by Middle Eastern standards. You cannot compare him to the likes of Stephen Colbert or Jon Stewart.

He's funny. I like him as a host. But he's not that good when it comes to political satire. His new show sucks.
