    What do you mean? The article says there are electrodes that read the brain waves...
    I only meant that the "mind" is not equivalent to the "brain". Picking up brain activity is very different than actual mind-reading and having access to a person's thoughts. If that was possible, the tech would be way more advanced and effective.

    Semantics here are important. The pop science in question hinges on using "mind-reading" in a linguistically deceptive way to push forth for robust reductionist materialism. If you refer to Daniel Dennett's "consciousness explained", you'd find that he explains it away as nothing. This trend in modern science is to claim that the mind is nothing more than the brain which is dishonest.

    Yes, I believe just for basic functions though. As "thinking of walking" is different than "command yourself to walk".You can also detect one's mood from his brain activity to some degree.

    The next step would be to keep people alive by machines that ensure cell renewal and brain and heart activity.
