Probably the only way to get rid of sectarianism.
Seriously, if it gets legalized then the entire populace will chill out and we'll finally have something of a country left.

This is a good source of income especially for the impoverished Bekaa/Baalbeck region. This will also opens up new business opportunities in the coastal cities.

And there's no way to numb the 'citizens' (are we truly citizens in Lebanon?) more since they're already numbed by the 'tayfe'

Nice tax income and a good way to revitalize agriculture and give jobs to the very poor in Bekaa.

Is there any data on cannabis industry in Lebanon? How much gets produced? How much it is exported? To where / prices ?

Yeah, I was curious what % of total production is exported. And total production. Well, Lebanon lacks data on even more trivial things... That should be changed.

No data or statistics, but according to a financial times article, in 2013 and due to the war in Syria growers made a profit of ~$200m.
According to growers there are around 50,000 dunam of cannabis plots in bekaa, and each dunam makes around $5000, so that's close to $250m from full harvest.

You have a point here Hameedo, Look at Colorado they are doing well without z3eyter or 7ameyeh bros!!
BTW, real estate in Colorado increase the most in a tanking housing market in the US.

Probably by legalizing it in Lebanon and design a system to control selling/purchasing of cannabis there will need no need for any export venue. Although some European countries will be happy to import it if it is profitable to them than growing it locally. Such legislation will make Bekaa valley, and Lebanon, more attractive and economy will flourish, it will be called Amsterdam of the ME :).
