Btw, I didn’t get the nakabe elections today: in some articles they were saying FPM had a candidate, in some others they said FPM didn’t have a candidate and left it to their supporters... which version is true?
FPM had a candidate that withdrew. The winner is a good man from everything I know.

    We are under two choices:

1- Turn against Hezballah at the cost of a potential civil war.

2- Face an economic embargo and bankruptcy.

That is the issue. Kel shi tene is a sideshow.

March 8 and president cant form a government that avoids bankruptcy and sanctions

And Hariris task is to form a government thats an introduction to targeting hezballah.

    And thats why were stuck.
It wont end there. Its not about the two ministers. Law hayde keno jebo 2 shiites ma hada seme3 fion, min ha yaaref hayda shu w hayda min.

Khalas the US put us under two choices: Either you go bankrupt or you get rid of Hezbllah.

Mich ha yendahak 3alayon bi osset names w wuzara.

There is a good talk by a Rafic Hariri advisor about it, he basically explains it clearly in a way that others couldnt. im trying to upload it.
It’s not a mou2amara but a mou2amara is being built around it. Ano you find it normal that the pro US parties and media and such are so actively promoting it?

Yaane is there a way to have the same foreign policy with an anti-corruption government?

As in, Byeje technocrat government that will protect hezballah weapons and be open to talking to Syria about refugees???

And eza eja hek government with such a policy, would the sanctions and killing of the economy end?

Because if you have bank sanctions and no economic investment, you’re not getting out of this shit.
That we are under embargo and sanctions from the US that are getting worse.

The US will not allow anyone to invest here until we get rid of Hezballah.

It doesnt matter the form of government and who will be the PM, what matters is its policy towards hezballah/iran/syria.

Were stuck in a war between US and Iran and basically US sanctioning us will get worse and will destroy all our banks until we turn on hezballah.
A proposed solution for Lebanon's current situation that would achieve and secure, simultaneously - anti corruption - not losing the west - not losing HA - no civil/economic collapse - no civil war - no violation of the country's democratic outcome that was manifested in past elections (while also giving way for the belated sa7wa of those that are now regretting their choices) - would be: a) restoring the resigned cabinet with Hariri exactly as it was, but this time with b) putting it under public oversight by 'opening' both the cabinet and the parliament to the public, and c) establishing a shadow cabinet composed of the opposition (representatives of whoever would now oppose this restored cabinet), and d) establishing a national open court.

Second version. Do not believe anything you read in F14 media. They are lying bluntly and openly, 3ala 3aynak Ya Tejir.

Those are facts as I explained earlier:

Overwhelming Tayyar and Amal lawyers voted for Melhem Karam on first round and second round, and got HA lawyers (who voted for HA candidate in first round), added to them on second round.

Shoubatis had their candidates in first round and mostly voted for them, then decided to withdraw their candidate from second round in favor of Nader Gaspar.

This said, it is important to understand that both second round candidates are independent, respected and appreciated by all, and that neither of them was running at anytime as a pro or anti anything or anyone.

Maybe the first reply that makes sense in all this thread.

I think an even better solution wouldve been found also (better as in more role for the hirak, aside from shadow).

But for all that, you need to convince these opportunists who are "leading" it to talk to others in this country before it all blows up and noone yelkechon w yruho frata 3al hawejiz.

@Dynamis @oldschool, I guess the proposed solution would be very hard to oppose since it goes to satisfy everyone's publicized demands.

@oldschool, if they so desire, representatives from the 7irak can join the restored cabinet rather than be part of a shadow cabinet. A shadow cabinet can be done away with in a open government system since the value and goal of the shadow cabinet can be indirectly met simply by having the cabinet and the parliament open to the public for public oversight.

Follow the constitution or resign, you should not be allowed to play with the country's future at this critical time while the country is at edge of an abyss. Have a modicum of responsibility for a change. Al-Ta3tteel Marfoud enough paralyzing the country, the next step is with the President and he needs to move on it immediately. No excuses. Call for istisharat immediately and move the constitutional process forward.

You are crying about demonstrators blocking a few measly roads when YOU are blocking the constitutional avenues and paralyzing the country.
    .
Why do you give the impression that you were a child who used to stamp his foot against the floor in the store, until he got his ice cream.. 3ala frez?

Years later, you need to accept that no ice cream 3ala frez for you, no matter how many times and how hard you stamp your foot against the floor.

No government formation is what Hariri is betting to weaken the 3ahed.
Hariri doesn't care of the success of the 3ahed.
PMA is a strong president, and any strong president is a nightmare for sunnis.
I don't expect PMA to live after 2019, because protestations in Baabda for urging the government formation will intensify, and if no government will be formed, protestations against the 3ahed will be more serious and can provoke health complications to PMA which could lead to his death/demise.

Hariri has nothing to lose in waiting
Weren't you the same oracle of delphi who, in one post w fard daf3a, predicted many things? On top of them aoun´s resignation on the 31 oct 11.45 AM, exactly 13 minutes before a gravitational wave hits Qoumm, causing the heavy saloon curtains at Ayatollah 3oumrollah Nassyani to flutter a little?

Am not sure if people are aware of it or ready to accept.... and it’s the most important thing

The banks went bankrupt , they won’t open soon and if they open there won’t be any money to give.
The money is stolen by Hariri and his mafia over the last 30 years
Venom, that's not how it works, Hariri and his gang didn't STEAL money from the banks.

The problem with the banks isn't that they don't have enough money. It's a confidence problem. The less people have confidence the more likely they are to rush to the banks to withdraw. This is called a bank run. When that happens, banks will no longer have enough assets (cash in this case) to cover their liabilities (the money owed). The reason why liabilities are higher than the assets is not because Hariri and his friends stole it, it's because when you deposit money at a bank, the bank lends out most of that money and keeps a part of it in reserves. They use these deposits to lend out and create more revenue for themselves. This is called fractional reserve banking.

On that subject, the Lebanese banks lent a lot of money to the Lebanese Central Bank. The good news is that most of the debt the Lebanese Central Bank has in internal and not to external creditors which poses a smaller risk to the economy. It's in internal lenders' interest to not force the Central Bank to go bankrupt.

    cash is king !
Real estate and other commodities has no real value if not converted to cash.
plus except a crash in the real estate market soon , the signs are already there and there is a major correction already happening.
It depends on what cash, so it is not always king. I would rather own real estate right now than Lebanese Pounds.

1- Turn against Hezballah at the cost of a potential civil war.
PMA will never do it and 70 % of the country
2- Face an economic embargo and bankruptcy.
look at Syria, they fought back and won, turn to Russia and china...we can do it...its just need s tough decision..
    1) Where did you get 70%? Out of your behind?
    2) We're looking at Syria, and f*** that. Russia now rules Syria.

To elaborate on point two, never negotiate when you're in a weak position brother. If you have economic sanctions, you're so weak that Russia and China will buy your country for pennies on the dollar.

Also, if you go against the US, you basically won't be able to trade using USD, because they control that. I doubt people will want to trade using the Renminbi or the Ruble.
