If you want partition we already have one.. if you want to partition even further more good luck with that!
It can only happen one way, first you would need a western blessing again, a constant and unlimited support from them just to survive.

But even if you have all these stuff it will still be bloody.. you would have to kill and displace people for your western depended little countryl

The Marouniyah Siyyasiyah golden age was when the Chamoun era ended and the Chehabi came to power by being neutral but it didn't last long either!! But we can probably argue that it was the only time when the National pact actually worked for a little tiny bit and it was that time when Lebanon saw many institutions being built!

Don't take it too personally when I say Marouniyah siyyasiyah..
The end results was bad whatever you say! Why are you even arguing with me on that! They simply couldn't handle the situation and failed big time resulting the country with a destructive war!

So what if they built some institutions that barely lasted few years and if they did last they are broken and not in shape or completely corrupted!!
Ya sure we can also blame it on many other factors.. But lets not talk like any of the sectarian siyyasiyah was good or had good end results because it wasn't!

Take Jamal Abdul Naser for example he built institutions much bigger and greater than the ones in Lebanon.. but it barely if any lasted after his death so shall we say the Abdul Nasser era was a success ?

Sorry ..but I don't think so.. I believe success is when you build something strong that will last for at least few generations..
Can I apply the same to sharia? It failed on almost every instance applied.

Who brought maroynyah down if it was

Of course I don't take it personally when you curse the marounyeh syesyeh. It is indeed a big compliment coming from you.

The institutions are still running until today, even the infrastructure and whatever remaining from it. your logic is flawed

This is the new Lebanon they want us to have ? This revolution would end up killing whatever western culture we have in Lebanon.
Anyway I hope people will boycott Jye
Do women wear a bathing suit on their way to the grocery store in Ashrafieh?

    Personally, I'm pro-nudity but I don't see what's wrong with this banner.
It says "no swimsuits allowed in residential areas"

The Christian university I went to had a similar sign on the entrance: "les tenues de plage sont interdites" as a latcheh to girls who wear revealing clothes.

    Now you are being childish..

the marouniyyah siyasiyah was doomed to fail like the seniya siyyasiyah and shi3iya siyyasiyah

they are simply fragile.. extremely weak..

And why all this hatred ? did I ever disrespect you or anything? do we know each others? all this because I mentioned marouniyah siyyasiyah ?
your sectarian gharizah kicked in I guess ! :p

All I said they were handed a virgin and in the end of it.. they handed it over totally screwed!
Even the institutions and infrastructure you speak of were handed over totally screwed! And the screwing is continuing now on what is left of them!

I was speaking from the point of them being strongest politically back then and them leading the country which obviously they failed at miserably otherwise we wouldn't have ended with a civil war if they didn't!

I'm sure there are many good excuses but that doesn't change the fact that they failed to maintain their political powers and positions and whatever they built!

Your problem is you want to argue for the sake of arguing because you can not handle that someone like me is saying it..

I pity some Lebanese who believe they're "Westerners" because they drink alcohol and wear revealing clothes.
Those are the same people who would report you to the police if they found out you were living with your partner before marriage.

Lebanon is only liberal compared to the Gulf but it has not nothing to do with the West.

The glamorous Beirut of the 1960s.. :argh:

يا سنين اللي رحتي ارجعيلي ارجعيلي شي مرة ارجعيلي وانسيني ع باب الطفولة تا أركض بشمس الطرقات

LOL @ that picture with a women in bikini is so over used trying to set an idea of the new Beirut not much different from what is still happening today to whatever is left of Beirut.. While the old real Beirut wasn't like that at all.. ye3ni I don't think the Beiruti great grandmothers used to be in their bikinis on the beaches taking pictures.. the real beautiful Beirut was before all these cinemas and movies and cabaret they always tell us about invading it!

There is no point debating if you are comparing a beach district to a university. This billboard was placed just behind the entrance to the beaches.

I agree....drinking alcohol and wearing revealing clothes do not make one necessarily open minded

It is in the mentality...Open minded people are those who respect and accept others....

We still have a long way to do before Lebanese people become open minded

Dubai and Abu Dhabi are more liberal, in some ways, than most of the Muslim areas in Lebanon.

Dubai and Abu Dhabi are extremely fake.. its all flashy and luxurious but soon enough it will all be in ruin!

And while you re at it define what is so liberal about Dubai, Abu Dhabi or even Christian areas in Lebanon!

Is it the buildings and luxurious lifestyle or women wearing revealing clothing or the ads eating the cities which makes them more "liberal"

It doesn't matter if he holds dual citizenship. Fact remains that he's a Lebanese who interacted with Israel citizens just like Ali Ameen. What applies to Al Ameen should apply to him as well. (Actually Ghosn went as far as visiting Israel. So, by law, his Lebanese citizenship should be revoked).

    [].
Read and understand Lebanese law. After 10 years, it doesn’t count anymore even if you kissed each and every Israeli. Unless you are morally accusing him ? In this case you will not find a lot of supporters except few leftists
