We need to be honest. He said, I don’t want to do this, it is a family business and I need to fight to exist. He said the truth ...and we know that he will end up like his dad or grandpa

Fight to exist or fight to keep his privilege? He can exist and get a normal job like everyone else.

All this thawra was driven by anti Christian hate and to keep refugees in Lebanon. Stupid Christians bought the dream. Now they are all back but weakened FPM

Aoun will never sign this government

Self-righteous Christian groups like Tayyar, who are always harping about how “clean” they are is the reason for Christianity’s downfall in the ME.

It reminds me of all those Jesus-freaks who have to permanently (and unwillingly) leave Lebanon because they lack skills in street politics.

They become miserable in the West, angry that those who don’t reflect their sanctimonious characters get to stay in Lebanon and party. It is what it is!

The hypocrisy and double standards of the sawra peeps is bewildering. They criticize Hizbullah for intervening in Syria but they're OK with sending mercenaries to Armenia.

Lebanese Armenians are Lebanese first and foremost and should not be allowed to fight in Armenia without the government's consent. This puts us at odds with Turkey and Qatar.

Just to set the record though, there is a difference between individuals choosing to go fight in a different country (e.g., Spanish revolutionary war style) vs. an organized military apparatus fighting in a different country.

Not disagreeing with the substance of your post, just saying it is not necessarily fully comparable

I don't think so. When the government turns a blind eye to citizens joining an armed conflict, it means it's complicit. According to Lebanese law, it's illegal to take up arms in a foreign land. Not like Hizbullah is respecting that...
But whether they're individuals acting on their own or part of a militia makes no difference vis-a-vis the law.

I'm not a fan of Hisham Haddad but that was an excellent interview.
It's a shame he picked Geagea over Gibran, though.
And he was a bit of a sissy when criticizing Hizbullah.

@JustLeb I think you might find this interesting.

Whomever still not convinced that this sawra was all about a coup against the president , FPM and the christians return to power full force is either dumb and being manipulated or an accomplice .

Leftists were against the fascist pro western regime leaded by the lebanese front, who was allied with the marines in 1958, was part of pro western baghdad alliance and was on the wrong side regarding the palestinian cause...
the same regime who killed Maarouf saad , the same regime who made the accords of cairo and permitted the so called Fatah land , and the same regime who was recruiting and building his paramilitary fascist milithia ..

There are many here that are stating that thawra failed bc Hariri and the trio is back ...on the contrary this coup d'etat against PMA and Christians power sharing- called thawra by the paid media- was succesful and acheived its goal...the main target was from day 1 to weaken the christians in the system and to fortify the deep state trio interests.... Berri/Hariri/Jumblat
I hope the stupid chtistians that beleived truley that there is a thawra will smell tge coffee and wake up now
