On 6th February 2018, Ogero launched its new strategy, communication plan and identity.

You can watch the whole ceremony here:

To resume, Mr. Imad Kreidiyye started by listing the challenges Ogero was facing:
  • Outdated Logical & Physical infrastructure
  • Absence of a roadmap
  • Lack of team motivation
  • Negative customer experience
  • Bad brand perception
Ogero's first challenge was a pilot "Unleash the speed". Ogero removed all speed limitations, each region at a time, average speeds reached 12Mbps, this pilot was done because:
  • The systems needed to be tested
  • The team needed the enthusiasm and the challenge.
  • Ogero needed to challenge its own fears
The conclusion of the pilot was that the speed and coverage weren't enough.

Ogero will now use 3 main technologies to cover the Lebanese territories: VDSL, FTTX (FTTH or FTTC) and 4.5G - based on the map below:

At the end, Ogero presented a roadmap for the execution of all the above:
  1. Maintaining the existing infrastructure
~ Status: Ongoing work, 45% done, ETA: June 2018
  2. Swapping traditional switches with modern IP telephony
~ Status: Ongoing work, 50% done, ETA: December 2018
  3. Completing 4.5G network
~ Status: Ongoing work, 85% done, ETA: June 2018
  4. Re-inventing the national broadband network
    ~ Status: Ongoing work, 35% done, ETA: Q3 2018
  5. Rolling out the nationwide fiber plan
    ~ Status: Ongoing work, 15% done, ETA: Q4 2020
  6. Increasing international capacity
    ~ Status: incremental
  7. Deploying Ogero's supercomputer for educational and business R&D
    ~ Status: Ongoing work, 15% done, ETA: Q2 2018
  8. Rolling out data centers and cloud computing
    ~ Status: Ongoing work, 10% done, ETA: Q1 2019
  9. Deploying public WIFIs
    ~ Status: Ongoing work, 15% done, ETA: Q4 2018
The main aim of all the work being done is to provide internet users in Lebanon with a minimum of 50Mbps

Mr. Imad Kreidiye also stressed on the immense work being done to work on the culture of Ogero's culture. Mr. Kreidiye listed the values that Ogero will be working on:
  • Integrity: We honour our commitments to those we serve
  • Growth: We learn and improve
  • Innovation: We remain curious, adventurous and creative
  • Compassion: We observe, listen, understand and assist.
  • Drive: We are never satisfied by good enough

Good luck to Ogero and good luck to us :)

The first thing they need to do is change their slogan "It all starts here"
