Only 36% of Lebanese voters are Christian

Muslims in Lebanon are well aware of that but their pride prevents them from admitting it.
it is also true that the Lebanese muslems - due to several factors, including having shared the same country for several generations with a larger Christian minority - do not exactly fit within the general stereotype applicable to other muslems communities across the middle east. this is a clear example of how these differences can be quite enriching when played positively and openly, and we have also seen several example of how they can turn out to be quite destructive when played against each other.

To my knowledge, there hasn't been an official census regarding Lebanon's population since 1935. But if you actually tally the votes in each district, you can get an idea about Lebanon's current demographic reality. 36% of eligible voters are Christians, 64% are Muslim.

With that said, do you think the current electoral is proportional to the population's religious distribution?

And is it fair for Lebanese Christians to keep crying victim when they are actually over-represented in the parliament?
they can take their share numbers wise in exchange with federalism , plane and simple, i will not let someone dictate my way of life based on his religious texts

christian parties should open the discussion regarding the lebanese state now
and try and get some form of federal state
caus in one generation they will be too weak to get anything significant
it's the best time to say what we really want
it's now or never
