Well it's called the Mezquita for a reason. That's Spanish for Mosque.

The fact it was ransacked and converted into a cathedral doesn't make it any less of a mosque.

It should be open as a place of worship, should Muslims wish to pray there. Likewise I think Hagia Sophia should open its doors to Christian worshippers.

It was a Church transformed into a mosque
So it is natural it returned to being a Church since 1200
No Muslim should pray here in a official capacity
If the Church want to allow it that’s different but this is a place for Christians

Quite the contrary. There was a small church that stood there some time ago. But the building you see today is a mosque built by Moors during the Muslim rule of Spain.
It was converted into a cathedral after the Reconquista.

I visited the Mezquita a few years back. You can see the part that was added by Christians. It feels totally out of place.

Just shows Muslims' real intentions for Europe. Seriously, they need a new Inquisition asap. Are they really that dumb to not see what's coming?

The first building was a Church
Converted into a big mosque
That’s the fact
The initial Church should not have been converted into a much bigger mosque
End of debate
What was taken by force was retaken by force
Muslims invaded Spain a Christian country and occupied it for many centuries
It was the right of the Crusaders to send them back to Africa

Well Spain ma assarit, either. It colonized the Americas and destroyed Mayan temples to build cathedrals. Read about the Mérida Cathedral in Yucatán, Mexico. It was built on the site of Mayan ruins.

Lands belonged to whoever invaded them at the time. There was no international law. This doesn't change the fact La Mezquita is a mosque.

One thing is for sure, though. If Spain is a prime tourist destination today, it's thanks to its Moorish architectural treasures.

I say let Muslims worship in La Mezquita and Christians in Hagia Sofia.

You find it convenient to tackle the Spanish "left" but become completely castrated when it comes to the Hagia Sophia. Is it because your great Crusader Putin is now friendly with Rajab? Just another principle-less right-winged nut you are.

Yeah sure. Madrid, Barcelona, Ibiza and the Canaries are really known for their Moorish architecture.

Many Mosques in Beirut and Damascus used to be churches before. Shu hal habal, if they are so desperate, let them build a bigger and more beautiful mosque next to it. Or take Cordoba and bring back Ajia Sofia and Umayyad mosque to Christians and the Aqsa to Jews.
Ah I forgot and build back the churches in Saudi Arabia.
