    This is a shameful reaction by the Lebanese presidency. The very reason the largest chunk of Lebanese citizens (the Shia of Lebanon) do not have trust in the state and see it necessary to protect themselves by themselves against foreign aggressors. Our compatriots in Lebanon are either cowards or rogues when it comes to defending us. This American breach of our sovereignty doesn't need anything short of an outright condemnation especially by the presidency. There is nothing to be "2asef" or sorry about. There is nothing to follow up with the Americans on. They did it deliberately. It wasn't a mistake. It needs a complete "idana" or condemnation of the American violation of our sovereignty by the President, who is the symbol of our sovereignty. Lebanese MPs have immunity. That immunity has been violated by a foreign entity. Where is the Michel Aoun we know, who is not scared of anyone when it comes for standing up for what is right? I am seeing more of a shy and weak Saad Hariri in this presidency statement.

    Mr President, we do not want you to be "sorry" for the violation of the Americans. Do what is right and tell them that their rude action is a violation of our sovereignty and it is condemned and rejected. If this was done to Iran, the Iranians will counter the act by declaring some American senators as terrorists or blacklisting them. That's the language rogue imperialists and colonialist aggressors understand.

    This maneuver is aimed at blackmailing Lebanon's democratically elected government and law makers from all sects to change their position on the Palestinian naturalization subject which is backfiring and uniting the whole country better than ever.
    The Christians used to be the weak link under such circumstances but no more. The Christians finally learned their lesson from previous betrayals and realized their salvation is their unity with the rest of their fellow citizens.

    They were the weak link in accepting and moving towards partitioning the country to please Israel by settling the Palestinians in one part of it. That is Israel's real problem with Hezbollah opposing it after all. Ironically, the idea is still floating around by the naïve. I read one of @Indie post recently suggesting just that... And guess who gave her thumbs up? Yes the La7di/Zionist...

    And that's what Arafat, Jumblatt and Bashir wanted as well. Cleansing the Christians from areas like the Chouf and Damour while doing the same against the Palestinians in Tal-Za3tar and Karantina for example was all part of a mutual agreement imposed on the warlords from outside. Trump's deal of the century is nothing new for a Middle East solution. The only difference now, which I really admire in Trump is his honesty by telling us what's on his mind. Unfortunately for him, the majority of the Lebanese today are wiser and more educated about their future. Though, it is fair to say that Frangieh was against the partition, so was Danny Chamoun; both were killed by Israel's man back then. There is also reasons to believe Bashir was assassinated when he started ignoring the Israelis and moving towards uniting the country following his election. Israel felt betrayed by Bashir. On the other hand, Geagea stayed the course and survived...

    Needless to say, Bashir's assassination drove the ignorant and ruthless among the Christians to commit Sabra and Shatila massacres under Ariel Sharon's supervision which brought the country back to square one and divided it deeper than ever.

    God forbids if anything happens to Bassil, history could repeat itself. It is very conceivable that the attempt against Bassil's life was engineered by the same old school. Bassil is working hard to unite the country and that is bothering those who adopt the "divide and conquer" concept.
    Every good Lebanese should pray the man's safety in order for Lebanon to survive.
