The leaders of France, Germany, the US and UK say there is "no plausible alternative explanation" to Russia having been behind the nerve agent attack in the UK.

They condemned the "first offensive use of a nerve agent in Europe since the Second World War", calling it an assault on UK sovereignty.

What does the joint statement say?
The four nations say they "abhor the attack".

The statement says: "It is an assault on UK sovereignty and any such use by a State party is a clear violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention and a breach of international law. It threatens the security of us all."

The nations urged Russia to "address all questions related to the attack" and provide all details about the nerve agent used.

It added: "Our concerns are also heightened against the background of a pattern of earlier irresponsible Russian behaviour.

"We call on Russia to live up to its responsibilities as a member of the UN Security Council to uphold international peace and security."

Separately, the US has announced sanctions against Russian individuals and entities accused of trying to influence the 2016 election and carrying out cyber-attacks.

Edit: I give up, the above was copy pasted from an article on bbc, it will not link not as normal link nor as media so sorry for lack of source, if someone can link it please do so I will be providing other links

Edit 2:

U.S., France and Germany join Britain in saying Russia likely responsible for chemical attack against former spy

it seems weird to me that the russians don't care about doing a clean work.
this is not the first time they got caught (Alexander Litvinenko - Wikipedia)
why don't they use a poison that can't be traced back to them ?
usually secret assassinations appear to be accidents or leave a trace that leads nowhere...

Because Putin believes that he cannot be touched.
Besides, how else can you make a point if nobody knows that it is you.

Sounds like a person who cares more about showcasing rather than concealing his deed.

simply by looking at the trend of targets: defected russian spies! everyone gets a hint especially the russian spies themselves, but should be hard to prove it for the host country.
while what we see is that the forensics directly lead to russia

Breaking News: Obama reminded the world that using chemical weapons is a red line and assured the world that Russia will oversee the removal of all nerve agents from the UK. #genius

Irish people knows the British more than anyone else ...

Unlikely that Vladimir Putin behind Skripal poisoning

Yes of course it's so much more plausible that a nerve agent was stolen from Russia and sold to a high bidder and ended up killing an ex Russian spy on UK soil than Putin having the same old mo and killing someone who sought asylum in another country, and actually fell ill when meeting with an ex KGB contact of his in 2006!

While we're at it, add this guy the list!

Putin critic who warned he was on Russian hit list was murdered, London police say

All the stupid propaganda in the world will not help Russia! It's awfully convenient Putin's critics and opponents keep dying of "natural causes", strangulation and nerve agents that only existed in the USSR whose intended targets survived an unsuccessful poisoning attempt after meeting a former KGB contact of theirs!

See unlike trump supporters, "communists" or people complimenting Putin and Russia because Syria the latter being prevalent on the forum, the rest of the world is neither stupid nor willfully ignorant!

I think you need to give your irrational defense of Russia a rest! Nothing about modern Russia is either communist or socialist! See unlike democracy communism is mainly an economic system, modern Russia is as far removed from that as the united states is! If anything France is more communist than Russia!

The only thing you can say about Russia with links to communism is that Putin is a freaking dictator, so you can say modern Russia is authoritarian and that would be true to form when compared to previous leaders like Stalin! However basing your irrational defense of Putin and Russia on communism is quite baseless!

Also the above is not related to your article

Still, circumstantial evidence is not enough to formally accuse Russia of being behind those killings. It could be the work of any intelligence agency out there trying to frame Russia in order to isolate it.
