Unprecedented development: Syria downs Israeli F16

#1
Syrian ***-defenses managed to shoot down an Israeli warplane. According to Israeli reports, the downed F16 was on its way back from attacking an Iranian base in Tadmor, in retaliation to an Iranian drone intruding into its airspace coming from Syria. The Israeli army said that the Iranian drone took off from T4 and was on its radars from the moment it took off till it entered Israel's airspace and got ultimately shot down.
Tensions have never been this high in decades, and it remains unclear how this escalating tit-for-tat between Israel and Syria/Iran would evolve.
Two notes from Israel:
-The local media reported that an F16 "fell down" and the pilots had to abandon the jet-fighter.
-The incident is sending shockwaves across Israel.
-Such an unprecedented development comes at a time when Netanyahu is having the worst time of his political life domestically, and is reported to be inching closer towards indictment, which in case it comes, it means the end of Premiership.
Notes from Syria:
Syria just upped the game finally, but what happens next is hard to speculate. One thing is sure though, Assad has just shuffled the long standing status quo and disclosed that the recent Al-Akhbar reports about advanced and effective *** defense systems now in possession of the SAA are indeed true.
Syrian army sources claim that along with fighter jet, its shot down an attack helicopter over Shebaa. No mention of this in Israeli media.

What do these developments point to? Syria no more a maksar 3asa and a picnic for unchecked Israeli *** raids, or a looming vicious war?

In my opinion, it's Russia who upped the game. I don't think Syrians can take such dramatic decision without the consent of Russia

In a way I tend to agree, but Russia will never contribute for physically harming Israel for so many reasons. It just won't, and definitely not for the sake of Assad's blue eyes. Unless..
Last week a Russian Sukhoi was shot down in Syria. A Russian involvement in shooting down the Israeli plane can only come as a response to 'verified' Israeli connection to the MANPADS used to target the Sukhoi last week. Honestly, this seems far-fetched.

Dont think it was russian defence system, russian anti aircraft weapons are only there to protect russian bases, natanyahou has been meeting repetedly with putin this year , could be an old syria defence system who knows, after all israelis have rackes up 100 + *** raids in syria during the civil war , 1 in 100 hit rate for an old *** defence system is plausable

Here that’s the plane brought down by old Russian missiles
Still doubt the power of SS 300 or 400
    Imagine Russia using its missiles
BY the way Israel technically is the US in technology
Not all raids were on SYRIAN BASES BUT ON HA convoys

It's very unlikely but possible by chance/luck that the oudated S-75/125/200 shoot down F-16 ... or it is a new Iranian/Russian toy...

It must have been a Pantsir s1 that downed the Israeli jet.
