Hey there,

This has become a yearly tradition and this year won't be different.

If you have just landed on this page and you don't know what is happening, read on.

So first of all, who are we?

The Orange Room is a Lebanese political & social discussion forum, it has been online since 2004 (yep more than 13 years now) and supposedly the #1 online now.
You can read more about us by clicking on this link.

Why are we writing this?

Well, first of all, you will need to understand how things work in the Orange Room. Usually, there are a lot of discussions and debates going on involving registered members. In order to keep those discussions civil and on topic, a team of moderators is elected yearly and given this task.

Moderators do not get paid, they do this job because they love to. Most of the times they get criticized a lot but this just comes with the job and they are up to the responsibility.

So around 3 years ago, we decided that instead of choosing this team of moderators, why don't we let members elect them? This way, members themselves will decide how the discussions can be monitored and who does it.

Long story short, we now have a constitution and elections are run yearly based on it.

Where can you help?

If you are interested in Lebanese politics & social events and would like to help in setting up a civil environment where people can debate their ideas freely, then this is for you.

Register and drop us a message, help elect this year's new moderators team (August 2017) or maybe you can run yourself?

Also, maybe you would like to share with us any other idea to improve this forum and/or its content?

Thanks
The administration

Sounds like fun. Hopefully we get some good candidates that know how to moderate a good debate.

If not this year, then the next :D
This can be prevented by setting a minimum amount of posts a member should have before being able to vote. This way people can't create fake accounts for election purposes.
