being honest is a not a mistake. however being a closet communist after the proven failure of communism is.
He's at most a social democrat in the vein of Germany's Christian Dems. Hardly a communist. He just happens to have a strong moral compass and frames his policies in those terms, which the part that the right and neolibs think is "ahhhhhh communism" because they've managed to make politics devoid of morals and he threatens that.

    If you mean Sanders - nonsense.
    I'd rather we hold bets on whom she will endorse - my opinion:
    Biden - 50% probability
    Nobody - 49%
    Sanders - 1%

    your definition of morality seems to be a bit of a subjective one. he is right on some issues, and wrong on others; however he is not the right person to preserve and look after the interests of the US citizens.

    your definition of morality seems to be a bit of a subjective one. he is right on some issues, and wrong on others;
    Of course it is. Everyone's definition of what is moral (ie, right) to do or not do is a subjective one. But I think you and I are using the term moral in two different ways.

    I was not saying his position is always the moral or right thing to do, but rather it's that he frames policy and politics in terms of morality. For example, the framework of his argument about a certain issue is not "it is good policy to provide healthcare to 10 million people currently living without it because it would save the US money" but it is "it is fundamentally immoral that we have a system that denies basic health services to 10 million people and therefore makes their health outcomes worse and puts their lives at risk." This is the difference between draining morality from politics, thus making it a detached and amoral exercise and re-inserting morality so we have to have the discussion about policy within the moral framework. He is doing the latter and it's a threat to how politics is done, in the United States and well beyond.

    Of course, nothing is black and white and on some issues he's right and others not. But that wasn't really my point. I was just trying to get at why he's painted as a radical socialist/commie or whatever else. Because he's threatening the basic architecture of the neoliberal (Dem and Rep) consensus on politics.
    however he is not the right person to preserve and look after the interests of the US citizens.
    We'll agree to disagree on that. Unfortunately, I don't think we're going to get to disagree in anything other than the abstract on this point.

    It would certainly be an upgrade :)

    Ya sure?
    Thanks to Trump, the US economy is thriving and Islamic terrorism is at an all-time low.
    If that's the definition of "dumb", then everyone should start acting dumb.
